Ambric performing a song

Throughout Cyrodiil are musical performers, often called Bards, that play and sing a number of different songs. In addition to the normal NPC interactions, these characters allow the player to request performances of specific songs they wish to hear. These bards will also play purely instrumental numbers in between performances on drums, flute, or lute. Performers can most often be found in taverns.

MusicEdit

  • There are five songs which can be requested:
  1. Bless Me, Oh Fallen One
  2. Everyone's Throne
  3. Fades Away
  4. Hero of a Song (Once The Way of the Voice is completed)
  5. The Storm Will Carry Us Home
  6. Melvin of Skingrad
  • There are 3 lute songs that bards may play.

LyricsEdit

Bless Me, Oh Fallen OneEdit

  • "Ah! A legendary song - due in part to its musicality, and in part to its... unsettling purported origins. I'll try to do it justice."
  • "Ah, a plaintive cry to all the gods!"

Bless me, oh fallen one, forgive me my sin. Come throught that quiet light, within. Hope has forsaken me, I linger here in shame. Grant me my wish, set me free!
Hold me, oh sacred one, lest night never ends! Grace me that blessed light, I pray to your perfect star. Save me, oh quiet one, my life let it fade away. Promise my soul will find peace.

Everyone's ThroneEdit

  • "Ah, that one. A ballad for the ages."
  • "Weary of endless bloodshed, eh? This anthem should suit you just right, then."

Until we find our way home, to everyone's throne. May we seal what our greed, has brought to the world. In every soldier and blade, from peace they have strayed. We sing that they throw down their arms.
Because until we find our way home, there's blood on our throne. Spreading evil and hate, we pray that it stayed. Between our family and friends, this fate will ascend. And then we shall find our way home. To no-one's throne...

Fades AwayEdit

  • "A nostalgic soul, eh? Sure thing."
  • "Dreams of a once-prosperous empire, coming right up."

One night, I had a dream. I woke, from tears, and screams. Nothing seems so real. The light, a land, in flames. But then, the skies fall down. The dream. it fades away...
I woke to see our empire, once great, now, in ruins. Keep it in your heart, find the strength to break our sorrow. So make my dream come true. Before it fades away...

Hero of a SongEdit

  • "A song to honor a hero of legend. It'd be my pleasure."
  • "A piece in honor of the newly-emerged Dragonborn."

A blade and a voice, shining right against the cold. Of tales and of legends and stories yet untold. A heart to sever rock and stone. Behold, the Hero of a Song.
A slayer of dragons, a seeker in the night. No creature of evil can stand againt your might. Your soul was with us all along. We praise our Hero with a Song.

The Storm Will Carry Us HomeEdit

  • "A good song. I'll try to do it justice."
  • "Let me see... yes, I think I remember that one."

A storm gathers darkly, the skies cry our names. We scramble to safety, our sails up in flames. But captain, he tells us to halt. He said, the storm will carry us home...
We froze in our places, had captain gone mad? He strode down the starboard, his eyes painted black.
A voice cried from silence, as loud as can be. "A pirate must die on the sea!"
Side by side, we stood there in wait, for when the storm will carry us home.

Melvin of SkingradEdit

  • "Ah, yes. That one's always a big hit."
  • "Can I? Let's find out."

A long time ago, near a city called home, was born quite the scoundrel, a boy full of storm. Sir Melvin of Skingrad, of glory and fame, our hero and savior, but only in name.
One day during supper, a girl in despair. Her brother with scissors had ruined her hair. Sir Melvin of Skingrad, with dagger and flair. He chased down her brother, straight down [sic] to a fiends lair.
The brother was eaten by goblins and wraiths, but Melvin of Skingrad, he hid in some crates. And when he tried fleeing, he fell on some glass. He woke all the goblins, who ran for his ass.
Straight back to the village, the fiends and their bones. The folks started screaming, and ran for their homes. But Melvin of Skingrad, his heart had been swayed. What hero would flee, when his family needs aid?
So while his legs weakened, he turned to his side. With dagger and flair, he would die for his pride. For time that was needed, in blood he had paid. The guards all came running, the goblins were slayed.
We buried our Melvin with glory and fame. As hero and savior, not only in name. Of [sic] things being equal, his blight [sic] was our fault. He saved us from nothing, but stole all our hearts...
