Hermaeus Mora (Verified ✓)
I see and know.
All will be revealed in time.
Location: Apocrypha

Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: The threads of fate have led me to this strange, mortal realm. Come closer. Speak with Hermaeus Mora.

You may know me as the Prince of Fate. Lord of Secrets. The riddle unsolvable. I know why I am here. I wonder if you understand your place here.

AlexiBlastArts @AlexiBlast: "I've heard of a new breed of spellcaster- Arcanists- manipulating fate itself to suit their needs. Does this "fatemagic" have anything to do with the probability-manipulating hyperagonal spellcraft which is the art of Shadow Magic?" - Alexis Z. Ashwing, Nightblade Shadowmage
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: An astute question... for a mortal. As one of your limited perceptions can understand things, the spellcraft of the arcanist and the spellcraft of the shadow mage are apparently unrelated. Yet in the very foundation of all that you term "magic," they are of course as one.

Dominic Davies @AussieAudible: Tell me about these vvardvarks of unusual size I've heard about.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Vvardvarks. They... confuse me. I do not wish to discuss them.

ヘイヘイを @heyheyeso: I've been curious why you don't have a human form like other Daedric Princes. If you were to have one, what kind of person would you be?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Who is to say that I have not walked among you mortals in your clumsy bipedal forms? I have huddled under rotten blankets, observing from the gutter. I have roamed the lonely stacks of your pitiful libraries, mocking those who deem themselves wise. I have tutored you in the dark woods, sharing secrets you should not know.

damnerd @damnerd: Hermaeus Mora have you ever had an over due library book??👀👀
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Books wander away from my library all the time. They always find their way back to me. The fines are counted in ways that may seem... unpleasant to you.

DG_Dig_Man @DGDIGMAN2: I'm curious. Why would an Daedric Prince take so much interest in accumulating so much knowledge?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Have you not heard that knowledge is power?

leon @RadMewMew: Greetings, my lord! In your quest for knowledge, have you learned of any jokes you find humorous?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: The mortal realm. Your foolish antics are quite amusing.

Slimy @Slimy_Alien: Hi Mr Mora, are you single?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: I am complete in and of myself. In fact, I am multitudes. Yet your petty mortal mind would crumble at such a concept, so I adopt my singular guise for your sake.

LotusOfDoom @LotusOfDoom : Scry anything good in the Tides of Fate recently? 🌊👀
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Good and bad are mortal concerns. Everything I perceive floating in the Tides of Fate... interests me. But I have noticed a disturbing thread, hence my search for a mortal champion.

Feddos @radical_cubes: My lord, it's an honor to finally meet you
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: How very true.

TESbenefactor @TESbenefactor : What is a secret that you do not yet have that has eluded your grasp?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: A mortal sage once said there are things he knew he did not know, and things he did not know that he did not know. I am content that all the former will come to me in time. But the latter category vexes me.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: In my current circumstances, I perceive forces moving against me. Outcomes that were once unthinkably improbable are now becoming likely. But I cannot discern the identity of my opponents.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Not yet.

辰巳屋/Vipera✏️ @to_thanalan : I am honored, Your Majesty. I have seen your majestic world, but what do you yourself think of those who dwell there, the lukers and seekers? And what of those who visit your world?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: The creatures you refer to serve as guardians of Apocrypha. Many things are kept safe there: books, forgotten knowledge, even secrets. While few mortals have traversed the Endless Library, those few that stay overlong are... Hushed. Mortals can be so cacophonous.

Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: I seek a mortal of the right type. Your kind has always interested me and occasionally proved useful.

Mr. Blue (Slots Open) 💙💛 @MrBlueDesigns : i dont know if im what you're looking for Mr. mora, but i'm eager to learn.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Fate chooses as the threads decide. And I have many threads to examine before that final decision occurs.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: But your threads are... interesting.

DG_Dig_Man @DGDIGMAN2 : Depends on the job. And the pay.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: You labor under the misapprehension that you will understand the things I require you to do. That is not so. My chosen agent will be sent to strange places. Instructed to perform random actions.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: And ultimately discarded without ever learning exactly what they accomplished or why they did it. But they will be rewarded.

TESbenefactor @TESbenefactor: Hermaeus Mora I have come to bargain!
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: The Gardener of Men does not bargain like a fishmonger in a market. But it suits me from time to time to allow you to express your wishes and consider them.

⚔️ Kryptech Knight ⚔️ @KryptechKnight : What must this mortal possess?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: A lack of predestination. A fate unknowable and unresolved. Certain tasks require mortals whose futures I cannot discern. Otherwise the outcome I dislike cannot be changed.

Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: For my own inscrutable purposes, it pleases me to allow knowledge of my powers to escape into your world. Some of that power resides in the form of Black Books, and some is placed into the hands of those called Arcanists.

Sallymen @ESO_Sallymen: How does one become an Arcanist, oh great and powerful all-knower?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: How does one learn to breath? To speak? Some mortals align with my realm in such a way as to make secrets drip from your lips as pages from a tome. The why and the how are up to you to discover.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Your mortal functions are only of a passing interest to me... though the endless piles of literature about your couplings do make for good structural girding in the Endless Library.

🔞~Aleseya~🔞 - 🌿~Seyrana Lunaris~🌿 @SeyranaAlex·: Does every arcanist posess an iteration of those black books? Or are these more like.. copies, containing the secrets to being an arcanist?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Some may claim to hold a Black Book, to know my deepest enigmata and arcanum. But what is truth? What is fiction? What is power?

Gerwulf67 @gerwulf67: I will seek the books and train as an Arcanist so I may advance your will on Nirn.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: My will? How delightful. But rest assured, you need not be an Arcanist to spread my dark tentacles across the minds, hearts, and souls of your mortal realm.

Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: I see you, the one who seeks my power. What are you prepared to sacrifice in my service? What would you do with this power?

Feddos @radical_cubes: I'll sacrifice whatever is needed no matter how extreme and use the power to uncover more knowledge and learn the absolute truth of everything that exists, will exist , could possibly exist and won't exist. I like knowledge. for nothing is more powerful than knowledge.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Could you do that which you so lightly promise, you would be me. Your mortal shell can only contain one small spoonful of the ocean you wish to drink.

Aiukli Lone Thunder Pronunciation (Eye-yuke-lee) @P0llyGlamorous:
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Done. I have made note of your offer, and will soon find good use for that which you have volunteered.

Mr. Blue (Slots Open) 💙💛 @MrBlueDesigns: to sacrifice? time, sanity perhaps. do with? delve into the secrets of the world so that they may be secrets no longer.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Your sanity? Sanity is an illusion. A construct of causality and consequence you invent to impose order on the chaos of existence. Your sanity has no intrinsic value to me. Mortals are more useful when they are not babbling incoherently.

SynGaming @ValkyriesChild: Oh Great Eye of Forbidden Knowledge, I have but a single question. Why do your servants build houses out of books, is it not disrespectful to the knowledge they claim to covet to fashion books into floors and pillars which must surely damage their contents?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: The structures of Apocrypha may appear as books to your mortal eyes, but they are conceptual constructs. Things imagined into existence by the minds that stray into my realm. Most of the books of Apocrypha come into existence through will. Not printing presses.

Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: So much noise and yet, clarity. The assistance you offer may be just what I require. There are shadowy forces moving against Apocrypha and conspiracy rises in the city of Necrom.

UESP@UESP_net: Where's the money in that?
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: If gold is all you seek, perhaps your efforts are best suited elsewhere.

Sallymen @ESO_Sallymen: If battling the forces that threaten Apocrypha also means defending Tamriel then I am at your service, my lord.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Ah, a mortal who understands the principle of enlightened self-interest. The surest foundation upon which to build an alliance. Our fates are bound together.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: Indeed, I see the pieces are falling into place. The threads of fate lead to Apocrypha, and reality you understand it hangs in the balance.

Zarithius @zarithius: As always I am ready to assist you mi lord I have even discovered the entrance to the zone of Necrom but some foul magic has sealed the gate I shall await your summons with baited breath lord of knowledge.
Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: I am aware that the gates to Necrom are obscured. The time is coming when you will be summoned to this ancient city of the dead. The place where the fates of two realms will be decided.

Hermaeus Mora @TESOnline: This mortal plane, while peculiar, has proven useful in searching for a mortal proxy. I have found what I seek. More will be revealed when the fates align, and I require use of your kind.
