Velfred the Outlaw

Velfred the Outlaw is a Nord barbarian and a smuggler working out of a secluded harbor along the Bitter Coast southwest of Hla Oad. Velfred owes some smuggling fees to House Hlaalu, and Crassius Curio would like your help persuading Velfred to comply with payment. You'll find him aboard his ship, the Grytewake.

He is wearing a nordic ringmail cuirass, nordic fur boots, a common shirt with matching shoes, and a dragonscale tower shield, and he is carrying a steel battle axe. Aside from his natural resistance to shock, immunity to frost, ability to shield himself, and a natural frost damage spell, he knows no spells.

  • "Why should I? I already pay half my profits to the Empire." (50 < Disposition < 75)
  • "Alright. I'll pay House Hlaalu the proper respects. But you better carry out your side of the deal." (Disposition > 75)

If you mention the ash statues he will attack you:

"You weren't supposed to see 'em, %PCRace. I can't let you out of here if you've seen 'em." Goodbye

NotesEdit

  • Velfred is one of the only bandits, smugglers, brigands, highwaymen, etc. in the game who will not automatically attack on sight; the same goes for his crew.
  • Velfred is more than just a smuggler. Aboard his ship is a shipment of Ash Statues, and even Crassius Curio is taken aback if you mention that to him. Velfred is also plenty willing to kill you if you mention his Sixth House cargo to him.
