A biography of Hinrich the Lion

Hinrich opened his eyes. He felt the previous night in his bones, but could not remember what had happened for the moment. Now he looked around and saw a man standing before him; his skin had an unusual coloring. His features brought to mind an elf in their delicacy and perfection. He wore a purple robe and held a strange rod, the upper end turned into two snakes looking into each others' eyes. Suddenly Hinrich recalled everything. While he could not move, he began to float, and was finally and eventually pulled along by the magician as a dog on a leash.

Hinrich spoke: "What do you want with me?"

And he felt that his voice was rough and his throat was dry as if he had said nothing for days. A smile formed on the face of the purple-robed man. A sardonic grin, that transformed his whole face from dignity to ugly malice. Hinrich was inwardly terrified.

"You will be my tool," said the magician, "until you are beaming brighter than the sun."

He made an awkward gesture and pounded his staff on the floorboards. "Now," he said, "Get up and wash yourself clean from your past!" And the irresistible idea of being able to clean his body in the trough of hot water, which stood in a corner of the dark room, permeated Hinrich. But it seemed like a strange idea, a parasite in his head, something wrong, which sought to displace all else. Nevertheless, it controlled him and he began to bathe, although the escape from that strange place and the fear of the strange magician cooked in it.

Hinrich was now clear that he was completely in the elf's power, and he could not do anything at the moment. So he bathed and clothed with a standard leather armor that had come from the skin of a guar, since it was little fortified, thin on the surface and soft on the joints. However, a spell was on it, which gave the carrier mobility and supernatural power. So Hinrich could carry the hammer that lay in the little wooden house surrounded by pine trees, just a few yards rose above the forest floor. The hammer was so heavy that if one put it in the house, it would have crushed the boards by its mere weight. So it was standing outside the door as Hinrich the Lion stepped out to take it, he wanted to remember to kill the mage with it, but that thought was immediately suppressed and rebuked by the wrongness in his head.

"Use the hammer well! I took it off a giant who had dared to get too close to my staff. Now that you are ready, you will get up and provide me your first service! I'll send you to the mountains of High Rock. There you will bring me a stone, which is located deep in the heart of the mountain. Magical beings are not allowed to pass through the portal, which is why I send you and do not go myself. Take the hammer with you." And Hinrich took up the hammer, which lay like a feather in his hands, and walked to the mage: "Dispatch me and I will get what you desire." The mage spoke and dissolved in air with a silent hand signal. The elf, however, turned and went back into the house. Behind him, he slammed the door which bore curved letters reading 'Mogan'.
