Lost in StudyEdit
Deep inside the Hall of Wisdom, you'll find Behelir bound with magical chains on the central dais:
- Behelir: "Blasted Xarxes, I know I shouldn't have … oh. Another one?"
Speak to him and he'll ask:
- "Hello.
You aren't an illusion, are you?" - No, Laranalda sent me to find you.
- "Thank the stars! You have to get me out of here!
Ahem. It seems I set off an ancient trap. But I think I've determined how those strange lights channel their energy, and how to turn it against them." - How do you expect to do that?
He will ask you to get a Watcher's eye:
- "Once trapped, strange creatures covered in eyes and tentacles descended from above. They reinforced the sconces with foul magic from their largest eyes.
Those eyes are key. Extract one and use it to refocus the lights! It should break the binding." - What sort of creatures are they?
- "I don't know. Daedra, I expect? The horrors of Oblivion aren't my specialty.
You'll know those floating beasts if you see them. They have many tentacles and seem quite nimble. Like netches, but covered in eyeballs."
If you speak to him again before releasing him, he'll add:
- "Acquiring a Daedra's eyeball is a disgusting request, but it will release the binding, I'm certain of it.
And if it doesn't, there should be some clean rags at our camp." - Why did you think I was an illusion?
- "Tedryni entered the room before you did. I called out his name, asking for help, but he just grinned.
That's when I knew it was an illusion. Tedryni always says smiles are the hallmark of idiots and fools. Sure enough, the illusion vanished."
Release him and he'll be grateful:
- "Ah, my arms! I thought they were going to fall off.
I'm glad the eyeball was worth it. So good when a theory works in practice, you know?" - You weren't certain it would work?
- "I was certain it was a good theory. All part of the scholarly process, my friend!
But never mind that, I should thank you for your timely rescue! I'll head back to our camp. I cannot wait to tell Laranalda what happened here."
If you haven't found Tedryni yet:
- What about Tedryni?
- "I spent the first half of my day suspended in an elaborate Ayleid light trap that you disabled with a slimy Daedra eyeball. I'd prefer to avoid any further excitement."
Speaking to him at camp before you find Tedryni:
- "Nice to sit down again. I suppose I'd have rotted away if you hadn't come along."
Speaking to him after you find Tedryni:
- "You found Tedryni. Splendid! Simply splendid."
Heart of the MatterEdit
After speaking to Laranalda, Behelir will come running from across the room:
- Behelir: "I heard my name. What do you need?"
- Laranalda: "Behelir, our friend needs your help in the Hall of Might."
- Behelir: "The Hall of Might! So you think we've found it? Exhilarating!"
He'll turn to you then:
- Behelir: "Lead away, my friend!"
Speaking to him at this point:
- "The Hall of Might, then! I've been looking forward to plumbing its depths!"
Enter the Hall of Might and when you are in combat. Behelir will cower and say one of the following:
- Behelir: "Ah! What is that?"
- Behelir: "Where are they coming from?"
- Behelir: "Why are old ruins always so dangerous?"
- Behelir: "Foul creature! Away with you!"
- Behelir: "Why won't they leave us alone?"
Finish off any threats and he'll marvel:
- Behelir: "Where did you learn to fight like that?"
- Behelir: "Good work, there."
- Behelir: "You make it look so easy."
- Behelir: "Well done!"
- Behelir: "Incredible. Simply stunning."
Enter the central chamber with several books and Behlir will remark:
- Behelir: "This looks promising. Let's start searching!"
As he searches, he mutters:
- Behelir: "It must be around here somewhere."
- Behelir: "It has to be here. It must be here!"
- Behelir: "Agriculture … alchemy … anthropology … hmm! Atronachs. Have to come back for that one."
- Behelir: "Hoarvor … horticulture … homilies? Quite a few books on that."
- Behelir: "Pompous Ayleid taskmasters buried more than knowledge on their shelves. Should've realized."
If you speak to him he'll only say:
- "How could anyone willingly leave this room? So many books! And to think, more secrets locked just beyond our grasp."
After you've completed your own search, he'll yell:
- Behelir: "Over here! There's a draft coming from this book case!"
Speaking to him before checking the bookcase:
- "I think this could be it!"
Once you've solved the bookcase puzzle, he'll exclaim:
- Behelir: "You've done it!"
Enter the room beyond and he becomes almost uncharacteristically excited:
- Behelir: "The Heart of Anumaril!"
- Behelir: "I never thought I'd hold it …."
His voice changes…
- Ukaezai: "… in my own two hands! Well, puppet hands count as my hands."
And his appearance wavers…
- Ukaezai: "The power … it's exquisite! And I have you to thank!"
- Ukaezai: "And now, I really must take this Behelir puppet for a stroll."
- Ukaezai: "Let's see how fast it can run!"
As you pursue the Daedra, she'll mock:
- Ukaezai: "I'm nearly free, after all these years!"
- Ukaezai: "Once I have my body back, the mortals will suffer! I'll make them all suffer …."
- Ukaezai: "I don't have time for this."
Ukaezai enters the next room where Laranalda is waiting:
- Ukaezai: "This really is too easy."
- Laranalda: "Behelir! What are you doing?"
Shortly after entering the Reliquary Vault, Behelir is seen lying dead beside Ukaezai, who is attempting to resurrect her own body.
