Though not as famous a kwama mine as Darkshade Caverns, Deepcrag Den's proximity to Mournhold makes for fresher eggs for the city's markets—an advantage over mines transporting eggs from farther away.
Deepcrag Den

Deepcrag Den is a kwama mine south of Mournhold, just north of the gate to Shadowfen. The kwama have recently gone berserk and have begun attacking the miners. As a result, the head of the mine, Boril Drelas, has ordered the evacuation into the settlement above. Several of the miners are still trapped inside the mine, however, and the local alchemist has asked for your assistance both in rescuing them, and discovering why the kwama have gone berserk.

A copy of Kwama Mining for Fun and Profit can be found in the barn. A thieves trove lies east of Martos, who is sleeping on a bedroll east of the northern path leading in to the area from Mournhold. A chest can spawn beneath the roots of a tree that sits on the western side of this same road, further north.

My Kwama Journal, Page 1 can be found in the first large chamber, just east of the entrance tunnel. The book is sitting on the ground at the mouth of the eastern tunnel, which leads to a path that overlooks the lower sections of the mine. A book titled My Kwama Journal is located in the northern chamber, near a mad Dunmer fire mage called the Kwama Queen. Harvyn Darano and Valds are sitting on the northern end of this path with several scribs, safe and away from the fumes below.
