Farwen Temolire is a High Elf who can be found at the Egg Mine Barracks in Gnisis. She is a member of Theyo Prevette's ghost hunting group and is in Gnisis to help clear the spirits from a fortress to the north alongside him and Sharz.
She claims to follow a forgotten and ancient religion from a time when "mortals and immortals lived side by side as equals," and is happy to tell you more about it, in exchange for a small donation. The name of the religion, however, is so ancient that it can no longer be spoken by mortal tongues, and its followers left this world long ago. Farwen claims that she found their lost archives and is willing to provide copies to curious individuals, for another small donation.

Go down to the lower level of the Egg Mine Barracks and you'll overhear:
- Theyo Prevette: "We'll deal with the problem as promised, Lord Thanlen. But we need to hire protection if the ruin is as infested as you say."
- Lord Thanlen: "I would employ ghost hunters who can't hunt ghosts. Bah! Just find your help and get to work before I change my mind."
- Farwen Temolire: "If only all spirits could be dealt with by simply slashing away at them."
Speak to her and she'll say:
- "Balada Nama-ai, traveler.
May the spirits walk among you as an ally, and your shadow never stray from your feet." - What language was that greeting in?
- "It is the language of my people's religion and beliefs. It dates back to ancient times, when the true gods were worshiped. When mortals and immortals lived side by side as equals.
It's very old. I can tell you more about it for a donation of course." - I'd like to know more. / All right, fine. I'd like to know more.[Leveled Gold ]

- [Persuade] Missionaries of the Three and the Eight seem pretty happy to share their tenets for free.
- "You have a valid point.
I suppose I have to stay competitive or risk letting this old, grand religion fall into total obscurity." - Tell me more.
- <See below>
- "You have a valid point.
- I need to give you money to learn more?
- "I only tutor the faith to those who are genuine in their interest. Just a simple monetary donation is all I ask, to help keep the old faith alive.
Don't reject the true gods by clinging too tightly to material things."
- "I only tutor the faith to those who are genuine in their interest. Just a simple monetary donation is all I ask, to help keep the old faith alive.
However you are able to convince her to tell you about her religion, she'll say:
- "The name of our religion is so ancient that the mortal tongue cannot speak its name, but it holds the secrets of divinity. Its true followers long ago achieved perfection and left this world behind.
Most of their teachings are lost to time." - How do you know so much then?
- "I found their lost archives and scrolls. Just a fraction of the truth, traveler, but enough. The path of perfection is open to me, and you may follow it.
For another small donation, I can give you a copy of the holy texts. Ask me when we return."
Find out that there is a malevolent body possessing spirit in the area and go and warn Farwen:
- "You must pardon me a moment. I require focus while I commune with the Old Gods. They will show me the Jahida of this place and guide my placement of their protective wards."
- Theyo told me to come help you place the wards.
- "Your help is appreciated. I can fend for myself, but conjuring these wards is taxing and establishing a spirit barrier is only the first step.
I must continually channel the flow of magic to maintain it for any extended period of time." - Why can't we just place the wards down somewhere safer?
- "The wards must align around a focal point, as near to the haunting as we dare.
Poorly placed, the spirit barrier could appear in an undesirable location. Inside solid rock, for instance, and I'll only have the strength to attempt this once." - Well, we need to hurry. There's a body shifter out here.
- "A body shifter! Old Gods protect us—not everyone survived our last brush with something like that. I—I must pray.
There! The Old Gods have lit the way. I shall follow you and save my strength for my magics."
Speaking to her as your follower:
- "The Old Gods show us their favor by marking out where the wards should be placed with a holy glow.
We must heed them. Quickly. Possession spirits are not to be trifled with."
Approach the first sigil location and you'll see two ghosts in the way:
- Farwen Temolire: "Not good. These spirits are being drawn to where our wards need to be placed."
Deal with the ghosts and Galgalah will appear:
- Galgalah: "It's so nice to have visitors. And so many. Who shall be my favorite, I wonder?"
- Farwen Temolire: "It's done, but the spirit knows what we're up to. We need to hurry, before it decides to stop toying with us."
At the second location, it'll be much the same:
- Farwen Temolire: "More ghosts. They must be under the sway of the body shifter. He owns them, body and soul …."
- Galgalah: "Now aren't you an interesting pair. More lively than the other ones. More vital. I look forward to wearing your skin."
- Farwen Temolire: "This evil has lingered here for a very long time … but have faith that the Old Gods power is far older."
And at last:
- Farwen Temolire: "There! The last one! Clear the way and we'll be safe soon enough!"
- Galgalah: "Such a pretty, hopeful smile. I'll have to practice it."
This time Galgalah sweeps Farwen up and disappears as Farwen screams for you to complete the sigil spell:
- Farwen Temolire: "No! Touch the light! Set the ward! Ahhh!"
Go to Galgalah's lair and you'll see Farwen trapped in a sigil ward. Defeat Galgalah and he'll concede that he cannot beat you, though with an ominous last line:
- Galgalah: "Strong! Too strong! I can't have you, but fortunately I have other playthings."
A globe of magic appears where the lich was, and magical lights start flowing from the org into Farwen. Farwen will be released however:
- Farwen Temolire: "Free? Am I free? I was a prisoner? Can't think. I—I have to get away!"
She'll run a short distance away from the ruin:
- "I … I feel better now. The pain. It's fading. I feel so light. Drifting away. Am I dead?"
- Focus, Farwen. The spirit of Galgalah has entered you. It's trying to take control.
- "Galgalah … yes. His presence is all around. Smothering.
I—I need to rest. I'm so tired. Just let me lie down for a moment." - No, stay with me. You have to fight him. You're the only one who can.
- "I—I have to stay awake? My body feels so heavy, but I'll—ah!
Gods, it hurts! I can feel him clawing at the back of my eyes! I … I don't know that I can do this!" - What other choice do we have?
- "Ah! I don't know …!
Finish me. End my life before this spirit can take control. I don't want to be his puppet." - If that's what you wish, I'll do it.
- "Tell Theyo thank you. Thank you for letting me join his little band of adventurers. It wasn't a boring life.
I'll be at peace with this, I think. Just … argh—just do it!" - <You stab Farwen and she dies>
- "Tell Theyo thank you. Thank you for letting me join his little band of adventurers. It wasn't a boring life.
- No. You'll fight this. Believe in your gods and push the spirit back.
- "What do you know of my gods …! Hah—the irony. My fate left in the hands of my faith … I want to live! Divines, you hear me! I'm going to live!
It—it's quiet now. It's quiet. Let's get out of here."
- "What do you know of my gods …! Hah—the irony. My fate left in the hands of my faith … I want to live! Divines, you hear me! I'm going to live!
There are two paths to the quest. One is if you killed Farwen to free her from Galgalah. If you took that path, you can return to the barracks in Gnisis and tell Theyo what happened.
The second path is if you convinced Farwen to fight Galgalah. In that case, you'll return to...
- Theyo Prevette: "And our hero returns! Let's hear it for our friend here!"
- Sharz: "To bravery, honor, and righteousness!"
- Farwen Temolire: "May the Old God's blessings be upon you!"
Speaking to her inside:
- "No one needs to know what actually happened to Galgalah. I … I have things under control."
As soon as you finish the quest, Farwen will, in a shaky voice, excuse herself:
- Farwen Temolire: "If you'll all excuse me, I'm going to find some more wine. This day has been quite taxing."
She'll head down to the lower level. If you follow her, you'll witness the spirit of Galgalah appear and laugh. Speak to her and she'll say:
- "I'm sorry, I just needed to take a little breather away from everyone. Just … just a bit to get my strength back. Then I'll be as good as normal."
- Why did you tell Theyo that Galgalah was banished?
- "No one needs to know what actually happened to Galgalah. I … I have things under control.
He's gone from the ruins which means we did our job and get paid. Why else does it matter?" - Because Galgalah is still with you and that's dangerous.
- "I'm thankful for your concern, but the Eight will protect me and guide my hand.
Now, please, you're making much out of nothing. I will be fine." - [Persuade] The Eight? I thought you worshiped the Old Gods?
- "Did I say the Eight? I, uh, believe in all gods—the Eight included. It's part of my strength.
In fact I should pray. Right now. Good day."
