Weapons of DestructionEdit
After speaking with Xynaa's projection, she will ask you to guide and protect Calia and Destron as they travel the path to her sanctuary. Before she can teach them to control their powers, they will need to witness the visions at the three Obelisks of Origin, Empowerment, and Inevitability along the path.
When you reach the Obelisk of Origin, Calia and Destron will take their place and wait for you to activate it:
- Destron: "That must be the first obelisk!"
- Calia: "Prepare yourself, brother, while our friend activates it and serves as our witness."
Activating the obelisk, a projection of a crib will appear, along with a man and woman in Imperial dress:
- Ramin Brolus: "The babes are asleep? How? I couldn't get the boy to stop bawling."
- Lestra Brolus: "I fed the twins until they were full and exhausted."
- <Councilor Vandacia walks up behind them, along with Emperor Moricar and two Imperial Soldiers. Ramin and Lestra bow their heads in respect.>
- Ramin Brolus: "Your majesty! Welcome. The babes are healthy and strong."
- Councilor Vandacia: "As commanded, my emperor, she bore twins."
- Emperor Moricar: "As Mehrunes Dagon commanded, so it has been done."
- <The figures disappear in smoke.>
- Destron: "Our parents and the high priest? I don't understand."
Continuing along the path, you find the Obelisk of Empowerment:
- Calia: "I suppose this is the Obelisk of Empowerment."
- Destron: "Activate it, if you would, friend."
Activating the obelisk, a similar scene to the previous one appears, showing Ramin and Lestra silently in prayer as Moricar, Vandacia, and the Imperial Soldiers stand behind them.
- Calia: "It's starting."
- Councilor Vandacia: "Time for the final ritual, my emperor."
- Emperor Moricar: "Proceed, high priest."
- <Ramin and Lestra silently kneel and Vandacia approaches the crib. The Imperial Soldiers take their place behind the parents.>
- Councilor Vandacia: "O Mehrunes Dagon, Prince of Ambition and Destruction, imbue these infants with your power!"
- Councilor Vandacia: "Let it ripen and grow within these vessels until the appointed time!"
- Ramin Brolus: "So let it be done."
- Lestra Brolus: "As Dagon wills it."
- <Simultaneously, Ramin and Lestra are killed by the soldiers.>
- Babies: <Babies wailing in distress>
- <The vision ends.>
- Calia: "Our parents were sacrificed to Mehrunes Dagon? Why?"

Emperor Moricar's voice can be heard in the memory fragments from the ritual Madam Whim performs on the Anchorite in the House of Whims:
- Emperor Moricar: "She is my blood. The legacy of the Longhouse Emperors flows through her veins."
- Emperor Moricar: "You are a tool, nothing more. Fulfill your purpose, or you will be discarded."
After the ritual finishes and Madam Whim successfully scries for the location of the soul of Moricar, you learn that you can find his spirit in the Brandfire Reformatory.
As you explore the secret chamber in the Brandfire Reformatory, you can hear him:
- Emperor Moricar: "Open the door. Your emperor commands it!"
- Emperor Moricar: "Release us! Obey your emperor!"
You may talk to him after the souls of the Longhouse Emperors are freed from their prison in the secret chamber:
- Emperor Moricar: "Released at last! Who must we thank for our freedom?"
You can then speak with the former Emperor to learn about the Four Ambitions and his plans:
- "An eternity of agony! This was not what the Prince of Destruction promised.
I did everything the Black Drake commanded. Everything the high priest instructed. And I gave precise orders to my son. So, why the torture? And why is the weapon here?" - Emperor Moricar? I need to ask you about your daughter.
- "Daughter? You mean the weapon? Why have you brought her here? You cannot let her fall into the hands of Mehrunes Dagon! He reneged on his promise to us. I see no reason to keep our part of the bargain now."
- Weapon? What are you talking about?
- "You did not know? The girl is one of the Four Ambitions of Mehrunes Dagon. But she's not like the other three. Oh no, I made a few modifications of my own to the high priest's ritual. She is not just an Ambition. She's my contingency."
- Contingency?
- "An emperor never relies on a single strategy! We were promised power if we delivered the Ambitions at the appointed time. But Daedric Princes are not to be trusted. So I prepared Mairead as a weapon that could deal with Dagon should the need arise."
- Deal with Mehrunes Dagon? How?
- "My daughter, the Fourth Ambition. She's the key. Along with the other Ambitions, she can call forth the power to banish Mehrunes Dagon. That was my contingency. In case the Prince of Destruction lied and we needed to send him back to the Deadlands."
- Is this true? Is the Anchorite really the Fourth Ambition?
- "The Anchorite? Is that what you call Mairead? Bah! Use her. Her and the Ambitions. Bring my vengeance to the Prince who betrayed us! Go to the Isle of Joys, a retreat not far from here. All the details are there.
Ah, someone comes. My Ambitions!" - The other Ambitions? Where?
The conversation is interrupted as Sombren, Calia, Eveli Sharp-Arrow, and Lyranth arrive through a portal.
- The Anchorite: "I'm an Ambition? One of those people Lyranth was talking about? How is that possible?"
- Sombren: "We are not property or playthings, Moricar!"
- Calia: "Sombren, no!"
- Emperor Moricar: "You are what we created you to be."
- Sombren: "You wanted a weapon? Then taste my power!"
- <Sombren summons his ice which freezes and then shatters the spirits.>
- Calia: "Oh, Sombren, why?"
- Eveli Sharp-Arrow: "Hey, friend. We better talk."
During this exchange, Sombren attacks the Longhouse Emperors, destroying Moricar and the other spirits.
Ambition's EndEdit
After you have placed the relic on the table to try to trigger the Anchorite's memories, a vision of Moricar will appear:
- Emperor Moricar: "Mehrunes Dagon provided parts of himself to create the Four Ambitions. These parts make up his egonymic and give the Ambitions their power."
- Emperor Moricar: "The egonymic can be used to weaken Dagon, to compel him back to Oblivion should the need to do so arise."
- Emperor Moricar: "All four parts of the egonymic must be used to even attempt this course of action. We will only use it as a last resort."
- The Anchorite: "I … I know this. A low and constant hum at the back of my mind."
- The Anchorite: "A part of me, but also a part of something else. I think that's how we recognized each other, Sombren and me."
- Lyranth: "So, the Longhouse Emperors were not as reckless as I thought. Mortal, I have an idea."
