Geirmund's GuardianEdit

She will direct you to speak with the thane about the trials.

"Hey there, friend! Just looking for an ale? Or a chance at the trials?"
Trials?
"Of course! Folks come from all around the Rift to take part in the trials. and perhaps earn the title of Geirmund's Guardian.
If you're interested, talk to Thane Vofknir."
I'll do that.

You can ask her more about the area.

"The Thane will set you straight. Kyne guide your path."
How did Geirmund's Hall get its name?
"Beneath this island lies the tomb of Lord Geirmund. He was a hero of long ago.
Are you familiar with Geirmund's Oath?"
How does it go?
"Lord Geirmund, great battlemage,
saved the Rift in Harald's age.
He slew the wicked Gauldur three,
and set their father's spirit free."
Go on.
"His tomb was built upon this lake,
and in his name this oath I take.
Should evil come, should night descend,
I swear the Rift I will defend."

After completing the three challenges, the Thane will present you to the gathered crowd. Suddenly you'll hear a voice cry out from below to see Runehild running wounded:

Runehild: "Help! Giants!"

Go to her and she'll mention that the skalds are trapped in the giant camp:

"What were we thinking?"
What's wrong?
"Jakaral. The skalds! They're trapped. Trapped in the giant camp!"

Save Your VoiceEdit

If you haven't started the quest yet, she will say:

"They're stranded. Please. Don't let them die because of a few too many pints."
What's wrong? (Leads to quest dialogue)

Continuing on from the previous conversation, the bards got drunk and tried to charm the giants but it failed miserably. As a result, her two friends are stranded in the camp and need to be rescued:

"Jakaral, Logod, and I went to the giant camp near Ivarstead. We had a few meads, and well, we thought we could charm the beasts with our music. Like in the tales?
It didn't go well."
And you thought it would?
"Look, there's a lot of blame to go around. I heard the thane. You're the new champion of the hall.
Are you going to help those bards, or not?"
All right, all right.

Speaking to her again:

"They're stranded. Please. Don't let them die because of a few too many pints."
