Morwen is a Nord living in Skaal Village. She works as an apprentice to the smith Baldor Iron-Shaper during the day. She becomes a candidate for marriage after delivering her amulet to Runil in Falkreath. Her mother was Bera, a Skaal woman, and her father was a sailor on a trade ship that sank near the village. She is the only Skaal known to have not grown up on Solstheim; she first lived with her parents in Falkreath before moving back to her mother's tribe.
Until the quest The Fate of the Skaal has been completed, she is one of the villagers building around the Wind Stone. After being freed, she will walk back to the Skaal Village.
Morwen wears a Skaal coat with matching boots and gloves. She carries her house key, a steel greatsword, and a selection of common items and gold.

DialogueEdit
Her greetings:
- "My mother was Skaal, but she left the village and I was born in Skyrim."
- "For returning my mother's necklace, you have my gratitude. It means more to me than you can know."
- "I'm relieved that you were able to save Baldor. I admit, I wasn't ready to become smith of the Skaal."
- "May the All-Maker protect us from whatever dark power took control of the Skaal."
- "You freed us from the dark dream, and for that the Skaal are grateful."
- "I've told young Nikulas that the world beyond our lands is no place for the Skaal, but he won't listen."
You may ask her to tell you what did she do in Skyrim, before she came back here:
- What did you do in Skyrim, before you came back here?
- "Well, my mother used to say that I was born an angry child. It's true that my heart has always been restless, and fighting was the only way I could find peace. I was a soldier for a time, and then a mercenary, but I was never truly happy until I came here."
- Have the dragons made life more difficult for the Skaal?
- "Well, the dragons are a constant danger, but so far they have taken little interest in our village. Thank the All-Maker for that! But have they forced us to change the way we live our lives? No, not at all."
Her goodbye:
- "Strength and courage be always with you."
During combat she can shout:
- "You'll regret starting this fight."
- "Did you think I would run?"
- "I don't want to kill you, but I will."
- "You leave me no choice!"
ConversationsEdit
Morwen may have some random conversations with her master Baldor Iron-Shaper:
Baldor: "We're nearly out of coal again."
Morwen: "I could travel to Raven Rock and purchase some more."
Baldor: "True, but I think that Edla would be hurt if you didn't give her the chance to trade for it first."
Baldor: "You know how happy it makes her to play the village peddler."
Morwen: "You speak the truth, Baldor. It makes my heart glad to see her keeping busy after Heifnir's death."
Morwen: "Very well, I'll ask Edla to trade for some coal."
Morwen: "Why have you never taken a wife, Baldor?"
Baldor: "Because I already have a wife, and I wouldn't want to make her jealous."
Morwen: "Oh? And what is her name, this secret wife of yours?"
Baldor: "Her name is forge. Now be silent before she hears you and becomes angry."
Morwen: "It's tradition that the son of the smith take his father's place, but you have no son. Who will become smith of the Skaal after you."
Baldor: "All-Maker willing, young Nikulas will take an interest. I would be happy to teach him."
Morwen: "Nikulas is restless. He's like an eagle, always seeking to fly somewhere new."
Morwen: "I do not think he has the patience to work the forge."
Baldor: "Well, Deor and Yrsa are still young. In time, I'm sure that they will have many children."
Baldor: "Perhaps one of them will want to learn the ways of iron-shaping."
Quest-Related DialogueEdit
The Fate of the SkaalEdit
After being freed from the Wind Stone:
- "Why was I building a temple?"
- "I must be going mad. But then, so must everyone else."
If spoken to while she's walking back to the village:
- "Sorry friend, but I'm on the road home. Find me there and perhaps we can talk."
The Gardener of MenEdit
Skaal Village DialogueEdit
- What do you need?
- "I came across a few of my mother's old things not long ago. Among them was a necklace that my father gave to her when they were married. I believe she would want it placed upon her tombstone in Falkreath, as a symbol of her undying love and the great sacrifice she made for it. If you find yourself in Falkreath, please give this amulet to the priest Runil and tell him that I sent you. He will understand. I don't have much to give in reward, but return to me when the task is done and I'll do what I can. Thank you, Skaal-friend."
- Why did your mother leave the village?
- "A trade ship from Skyrim struck ice off the coast near the village, and the Skaal took in the surviving sailors. My mother fell in love with one of the sailors - my father - and eventually returned with him to Skyrim."
- Did she ever return here?
- "Sadly, no. She died in Falkreath, where I was born."
Returning to her:
- Runil agreed to your request.
- "You've brought warmth to my heart, outsider, and I'm in your debt. Please accept this as a token of gratitude. Once again, you've proven yourself an ally to the Skaal."
The Bonds of MatrimonyEdit
- "An Amulet of Mara? I haven't seen such a thing in a very long time."
- Interested in me, are you?
- "I cannot deny it. You remind me of all the things I miss about Skyrim, and my heart beats a little quicker when you are near. Do you feel the same?"
NotesEdit
- She is one of just three spouses that can actually live on Solstheim with you, as spouses and children cannot move into Severin Manor.
- If married, she will sell blacksmith merchandise rather than just general merchandise, despite not acting as a smithing vendor prior to marriage.
- Tharstan was also supposed to converse with Morwen when she visited the Greathall, something she doesn't do in the final game:
- Morwen: "How much longer will you stay in the village, Tharstan?"
- Tharstan: "To tell the truth, Morwen, I thought it would only be a year or two. However, I have come to be very fond of the village and of all of you."
- Morwen: "Then you should stay. What does the world beyond our lands have to offer that we do not?"
- Tharstan: "It's hard to explain, but as much as I have come to think of Skaal Village as a second home, I do still miss Skyrim."
- Morwen: "I understand. Know that you are welcome here for as long as you wish to be."
- Tharstan: "I thank you, Morwen. It means very much to me to hear you say so."
