The Cinder-Heart Clan was a prominent clan of Reachfolk that lived in the Reach, a region in western Skyrim during the Interregnum in Second Era. They were a warlike clan often found near Markarth.[1] In 2E 582 their camp was located to the northwest of Hroldan Ring.[2]
The Reachfolk of the Cinder-Heart Clan dedicated themselves to one of the Great Spirits of the Reach, Molag Bal. They were infamous for their unique method of creating Briarhearts. They typically filled the victim's empty chest cavity with hot coals during the ritual.[1]
They erected a shrine to Molag Bal, known as the Cinder-Heart Ritual Stone at the southwestern part of their camp.[2]
HistoryEdit
The Cinder-Heart Clan was considered one of the more prominent clans of the Reach as of 2E 568.[1] As of 2E 582 members of the Cinder-Heart Clan were hostile to both outsiders and their Reachfolk neighbors.[2] Their warriors were led by Briarheart commanders.[3]
In 2E 582 Arana of Wayward Guardians requested the ally of the House Ravenwatch to gather ingredients required for the ritual to Hircine in order to seal the alliance between the factions. One of the necessary components of the ritual was a briar seed. The Vestige obtained the seed from the tree of the Cinder-Heart Clan.[4][5][6]
