The Ten Pace Boots are a pair of heavy boots which fortify the user's speed and athleticism, as well as allowing the user slowfall. Wearers that use the enchantment suffer from a drain to their fatigue however. Not much is known about the artifact, but despite resembling leather, they offer protection rivaling Daedric boots.[1]
Circa 3E 427, the Ten Pace Boots were located in Bal Fell, Daedric ruins associated with Sheogorath that had obtained a nasty reputation. Wizards from Great House Telvanni set up competing camps of hirelings and adventurers to explore and loot the ruins,[2][3] and members of the rival Mages Guild sent expeditions to clear out the Daedra. Much of Bal Fell had been looted by the competition, but fortunately none had penetrated its inner shrine, allowing the Nerevarine to loot the Ten Pace Boots from the ruins.[4]:236 Later that year, the boots were sold to Torasa Aram, who put them on display in her Museum of Artifacts in Mournhold.[5]
