Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Elusive JimEdit
If you haven't run into Gentleman Jim Stacey yet, you're definitely not alone; he is an elusive character, being the head of the Thieves Guild and all. Jim can be found in Simine Fralinie's bookshop tucked away in Vivec, Foreign Quarter Canalworks, east section. To make matters further complicated, he is behind a well locked (65) door at the back of the shop. He will start giving you Thieves Guild quests once you reach the rank of Captain or higher in the Guild, though he will assign you Bal Molagmer quests at a much lower rank.
JobEdit
Jim's first job for you is to find a fellow guild member Nads Tharen who used to hang out at the Elven Nations Cornerclub in the Hlaalu Canton here in Vivec. If it turns out that he is dead, you are to return his key to Jim.
Asking AroundEdit
The Hlaalu Canton is just southwest of the Foreign Quarter; the Cornerclub is on the Plaza and Waistworks levels. Most people in the bar don't know anything about Nads, but Sovali Uvayn knows a few things. Apparently, Arvama Rathri spoke with Nads the last time he was in here, though Sovali isn't sure where Nads can be found (though she says Gadela Andus might be able to help you). Though Gadela (behind the bar) won't tell you anything about Arvama, she will tell you that Nads lives in St. Delyn Canalworks (if she has a disposition of at least 90 towards you), South-Two when you ask about him (you may need to persuade her a bit to get this information).
Find Brother NadsEdit
St. Delyn is just southeast of the Hlaalu Canton; South-Two Canal is on the bottom of the south side. Inside you'll find Nads' corpse in the middle of a wrecked home. Take his key from his corpse and anything else you might take a liking to.
(optional) Kill Arvama RathriEdit
After finding Brother Nads' dead body, go back to the Elven Nations Cornerclub and speak to Arvama Rathri about Nads Tharen. Telling her that you believe she killed Nads makes her attack you; kill her for an additional reward of 500 gold.
Return to Jim with the key for a reward of 500 gold, or 1,000 gold if you killed Arvama in revenge.
