Baeralornil

Baeralornil is a Wood Elf who can be found on the side of the road in the West Weald during a random encounter. He will be found casting a necromantic ritual on a dead Hoarvor.

DialogueEdit

As you approach:

Baeralornil: "Now, dead creature! Prepare to rise again!"

You will find out he wants to test out whether he has necromancy skills, you can either encourage or discourage from attempting it:

"Step back, stranger! I am about to perform a miraculous feat of mighty spellcraft!"
What are you doing?
"I'm unleashing the power of my ancestors! I intend to reanimate the dead!
I recently learned I'm descended from ancient Ayleid necromancers. Hah! Can you believe it?"
You're part Ayleid?
"Oh yes. The ancient Ayleids fled Cyrodiil ages ago. I recently discovered our family tree, and it plainly says one of those Wild Elves was my ancestor. So I'm here, testing out my obvious Ayleid talents in necromancy!"
Oh. Don't let me stand in your way.
"You doubt my abilities? Bear witness, stranger! I'll display the skills that only one of Ayleid heritage could possess!"
You probably shouldn't do something so dangerous as a first try.
"You think so?
Ah, maybe you're right. My Ayleid ancestors probably wouldn't want me to die foolishly on my first try."

If you are a Necromancer, after asking him what he is doing you can access a different dialogue sequence:

I'm a necromancer. Do you want any tips? [verification needed — don't have exact phrasing]
"While appreciated, this is a test of my own inherent talents. I don't want it to be muddled by outside interference."
As a necromancer, I know what you're doing is dangerous.
"You think so?
Ah, maybe you're right. My Ayleid ancestors probably wouldn't want me to die foolishly on my first try."

If you convince him to stop the ritual, he will stop casting it and consider learning more about the skills needed:

Baeralornil: "Perhaps I'll try this experiment again in the future, after I learn a bit more."

Speaking to him after he stops the ritual:

"Perhaps I should read up on necromancy more first. Legends says the Ayleids had huge labor forces of undead, but nothing about their spellcasting abilities."

If you used the necromancer-specific dialogue options he will instead say:

"Save me the chastising. I'm sure a fellow necromancer like yourself knows we all have to start somewhere."

If you let him go ahead with the ritual, he will successfully revive the hoarver but the hoarver will chase him:

Baeralornil: "Here goes nothing! I command thee, lesser creature, to rise!"

The hoarver will begin chasing him:

Baeralornil: "Oh no no! Get away! Why won't you obey me?!"
