The Lost PatrolEdit
You must loot the corpse of a fallen Lion Guard Officer and bring Lieutenant Jascien's Last Missive during the quest.
- "Ah, a new recruit! We could certainly use the help out here."
- I found a Lion Guard Officer and his patrol. They're dead.
- "Damn. Another one. We can't afford to keep losing soldiers like this!"
Taking the Fight to the EnemyEdit
Arrive at the Lion Guard Redoubt and he'll be standing outside his tent:
- "Ah, a new recruit! If you're here to help, we could certainly make use of you."
- I'm looking for Angof.
- "Aren't we all, my friend. Aren't we all.
We might be able to assist each other, but we have some other business to take care of first."
The Lion Guard's StandEdit
If you haven't started Taking the Fight to the Enemy with Darien, you can instead go straight to Ales directly. If you go to Ales, he'll say: "Finally! I was beginning to think help would never arrive."
Speak with him to begin the quest.
- "Ah, a new recruit! We could certainly use the help out here."
- How can I help?
Either way...
- "We're dealing with a literal undead uprising! Our patrols sweep the wilds while our primary wizard, Gabrielle Benele, searches for a magical relic that will help.
But I'm concerned. Some of our patrols haven't returned." - Do you want me to find the missing patrols?
- "The Lion Guard doesn't usually seek help outside its ranks, but these are desperate times. Do what you can to help any patrols you encounter.
And if you run into Mage Benele, maybe you can help her out, as well." - I'll look for the missing patrols and the mage.
You can ask him a few questions before running the errand.
- "Stendarr bless you."
- I have a few questions.
- "I'll tell you what I can."
- Where should I check for your patrols?
- "In hindsight, I may have spread the patrols too thin.
I sent them to patrol the grounds around the redoubt, to protect the Gaudet Farm, and to guard the western ruins at Merovec's Folly."
- "In hindsight, I may have spread the patrols too thin.
- Tell me more about Gabrielle Benele.
- "Wizard Benele is here on behalf of the Mages Guild. She claims there's a relic in the ruins that will help us defeat Angof, but magic is so unpredictable.
And, truth be told, Wizard Benele can be easily distracted."
- "Wizard Benele is here on behalf of the Mages Guild. She claims there's a relic in the ruins that will help us defeat Angof, but magic is so unpredictable.
- Why don't you go after Angof?
- "I'd love to, but there's some kind of barrier protecting the crypts at Cath Bedraud.
Unless Wizard Benele can get us through that barrier, we can't get to Angof. And the undead will just keep coming."
- "I'd love to, but there's some kind of barrier protecting the crypts at Cath Bedraud.
If you return to him after the previous discussion, he'll only say:
- "Blast that mage! She's put us all at risk. That bauble had better be worth the effort."
After returning to camp with Benele, you can speak to him again:
- "I hope Wizard Benele knows what she's doing."
Start the Mists of Corruption and he'll comment:
- "By Akatosh, that little trinket better be worth all the trouble we've gone to."
After killing Angof the Gravesinger, he will say:
- "I hear you were instrumental in the defeat of that villain, Angof. Well done!"
After you completed the quest Angof the Gravesinger:
- "We are in your debt, friend. I hope you made Angof suffer before you finished him!"
