Quick WalkthroughEdit
Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Eirfa tells you of a drinking contest they have, she asks you to speak to her sister, Aelm, who is just inside the drinking hall.
- "Hmm. You look like you could win a bar fight. But what about a drinking contest? That's a real challenge."
- What did you have in mind?
- "Talk to my sister Aelm inside the pub. She'll set you straight.
Just mind how quick you drink. This ain't Elf wine." - I'll do that.
Aelm gives you the rules of the contest: you have to drink as much as you can within the allotted time without collapsing. She also gives you the advice to eat food between every few drinks in order to soak up the mead.
- "Yeah?"
- Eirfa told me you—
- "Yeah, I heard her. You'll need to beat the last Nord's time. Drink ten mugs from the keg.
You might want to take a bite of food every few drinks. That'll soak up the mead, so you don't get sick. You ready?" - I'm ready.
You will have one and a half minutes (01:30) to complete the challenge. The current, best strategy goes as such:
- Drink 2x from the barrel > Eat 1x from The Drunkard's Feast (next to Aelm) > Drink 2x > Eat 1x > Drink 2x > Eat 1x > Drink 2x > Eat 1x > Drink 2x
Return to Eirfa. She will congratulate you on your victory, but tell you there's one more task: to drink a special, potent brew and recite Geirmund's Oath on a nearby stage. She will recite the Oath for you upon request.
- "Not bad, not bad. Not that impressive, either.
If you really want to prove yourself—" - What? What? Just tell me what to do.
- "Behind you is a stage. Beside the stage is a keg. The brew inside the keg could drop a mammoth.
You think you're tough? Drink the brew, then recite Geirmund's Oath. That would be impressive." - Fine. What's the Oath?
- "Lord Geirmund, great battlemage,
saved the Rift in Harald's age.
He slew the wicked Gauldur three,
and set their father's spirit free." - Go on.
- "His tomb was built upon this lake,
and in his name this oath I make.
Should evil come, should night descend,
I swear the Rift I will defend." - Done! I'm off.
Head over to the keg, which is sitting to the right as you face the stage. As soon as you drink from the keg, it will become immediately obvious just how strong the brew is as your vision blurs and turns green. Stumble over to the stage and stand by the lectern.
- "<The crowd awaits your opening words.>"
- <You clear your throat.>
- "<The audience cheers.>"
From here you have several choices to make for each line:
Line 1
- Lord Geirmund was a crazy mage.
- Lard Garglemon, green burgle beige.
- Lord Geirmund, great battle mage.
Line 2
- He shaved the rats, slept in a cage.
- Saved the Rift in Harald's age.
- Hey samaramalrumulrage.
Line 3
- He chewed upon the Goblin tree.
- A bum ba bum ba bumble bum.
- He slew the wicked Gauldur three.
Line 4
- And sat a feather on a flea.
- Da dum da bum da dumble dum.
- And set their father's spirit free.
Line 5
- A thumb was burnt into a cake.
- His tomb was built upon this lake.
- Ba boo ba be ba babby boh.
Line 6
- And in his name this oath I take[1].
- Now on my nose this cake I bake.
- La loo la le la lobby low.
Line 7
- Should evil come, should night descend,
- I don't know the words.
- I … I don't feel so good.
Line 8
- I'm going to be sick.
- I don't know the words.
- I swear the Rift I will defend!
If you give the wrong line, the crowd will randomly react:
- "<The audience is confused.>"
- "<The audience boos.>"
However if you get it right or if you mumble through the line, they'll randomly react with these:
- "<The audience cheers.>"
- "<The audience is silent.>"
Once you're done, return to Eirfa. No matter if you get the lines correct or not she will remark on your fortitude before giving you your reward.
- "Very entertaining."
- I'm glad to have entertained.
- "You can hold your drink, and you sing like a bird. Geirmund would be proud!"
NotesEdit
- ^ The NPCs sing "and in his name this oath I make", rather than "take".

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
