Tamriel is the continent on which Elder Scrolls Online takes place. It is located on the planet Nirn in the Mundus, and it is being pulled into Oblivion by Molag Bal's Planemeld. Tamriel is currently divided between three military alliances: the Aldmeri Dominion, the Daggerfall Covenant and the Ebonheart Pact. Given the current events, Tamriel is not divided along traditional province lines; see zones for more information.
Tamriel serves as the parent map for most zones. A few individual locations also use Tamriel as the parent map, making them Unzoned.
For historical information, see the lore article.

NotesEdit
- Tamriel has an associated loading screen text attached to it in-game, however, since there is no way to travel to it specifically, it is never visually displayed. The text reads:
- It was at the Convention of the Aedra that the land was first called "Tamriel," which in the ancient tongues means "Dawn's Beauty." There are those, however, who prefer to translate it as "Starry Heart."
