Quest-Related EventsEdit
When you approach, she seems worried.
- "The dreugh won't remain calm at this rate."
She will mention the dreugh have been restless due to Dominion presence and that the Argonian relics need to be taken quickly before the Dominion forces get their hands on them:
- "The dreugh have become unsettled since the Dominion arrived."
- The Dominion is here?
- "Yes, they set up camp not far from here and have been attacking the dreugh, goading them into frenzy.
- It won't be long before they learn of Bogmother's holy relics."
- What relics?
- "Those sacred stones help calm the dreugh. If the Dominion takes them...
- Gerent Saervild Steel-Wind and his son Njorlund came to protect the bog. Please speak with Saervild; his camp's beside the main road. Maybe he'll have some advice."
- I'll talk to Saervild.
Speaking to her again:
- "Gerent Saervild Steel-Wind should be at his camp. I'm sure he'll know what to do."
Once you free her from the last dreugh mud pile, she'll gasp.
- Tree-Minder Raleetal: "Freed at last ... not safe here. Come. My camp is at the ruins."
Joining her at her camp, she will come to the conclusion that Saervild has betrayed the Pact and the relics need to be taken back from Dominion hands. In doing so, you will need to find an item that has a Dominion military scent:
- "As mud is my mother! Njorlund breathes no more. Sithis has called him back to chaos."
- He was alive when I left him.
- "Look at the blade. That's Saervild's weapon! What could drive a father to such madness that he would murder his own hatchling?"
- Saervild asked me to collect the relics.
- "Then Saervild has betrayed us all. Perhaps he has been taken by some madness ... or perhaps he is in league with our enemies.
- Balance must be restored. Where are the relics now?"
- I gave the relics to Njorlund Steel-Wind.
- "Yet here is his body, and the relics are nowhere to be found.
- If Saervild was an agent of the Dominion, the relics could already be in our enemy's hands. In time, they will discover how to use them to control the dreugh."
- Where could Saervild take the relics?
- "The Dominion camp, at bog's edge. I'm no warrior, but there is something I can do. A ritual that might serve as a diversion.
- I'll need something from their camp. Something laden with their scent. Can you do this?"
- I'll find something at the Dominion camp.
- "When you have the item, bring it to the reliquary within these ruins. I'll prepare myself for the ritual and meet you there."
At this point, you will not be able to speak to her until you further the quest.
After retrieving something that smells like the Dominion, she will be at the center of the ruins to prepare a ritual to turn the dreugh against the Dominion troops:
- "Praise the Hist. You return safely! You have something with our enemy's scent?"
- This bedroll should smell like Dominion soldiers.
- "Place the bedding in the reliquary. My ritual will plant the seed of the Dominion's destruction in the minds of the dreugh."
- How does the ritual work?
- "The prey's scent is placed into a sacred vessel to attract the nearest predator. This ritual will turn the dreugh on the dryskin fools who seek to enslave them."
- What do you mean?
- "A powerful enchantment forms a link between their bearer and the dreugh queen. When placed in the reliquaries and blessed, they have a calming effect upon her workers.
- These relics are sacred to my people. Using them as weapons is blasphemy."
- I don't need the details. Just tell me what I need to do./All right. Tell me what I need to do.
- "The Dominion must be stopped before they learn the secrets of the relics, and Saervild must pay for Njorlund's murder.
Let us begin. Place the item on the reliquary."
Before placing the bedding in the reliquary:
- "Place the bedding in the reliquary, and stand back."
Once the bedding has been placed, she prays at the reliquary which turns the dreugh into allies against the Dominion. Speaking to her after the ritual:
- "The seed is planted. The dreugh are frenzied by the Dominion scent.
- Saervild must be stopped, and the relics returned. The wind tells me that they are near Mudshallow Cave, in the Dominion camp. Make haste!"
- Are you sure the dreugh won't attack me?
- "You have nothing to fear. Your smell will be sun-blessed to their senses, and the Dominion dryskins will smell like prey. The most delicious freshwater trout.
Go quickly, Saervild flees with the relics!"
Speaking to her again, she will repeat the significance of the relics:
- "Saervild must be stopped and the relics returned before the Dominion learns their secrects."
- What can you tell me about the relics?
- "A powerful enchantment forms a link between their bearer and the dreugh queen. When placed in the reliquaries and blessed, they have a calming effect upon her workers.
- These relics are sacred to my people. Using them as weapons is blasphemy."
After killing the imposter Saervild and retrieving the stolen relics, she will be outside the entrance of Mudshallow Cave:
- "The winds have changed. The stormclouds part. You have the relics, yes? I can sense them."
- I have them. Saervild wasn't a traitor. A Dominion spy stole his skin.
- "Xuth! I have heard of such things, but didn't think the Dominion capable of such horrific act. Skin-stealers!
And yet, the spirits of Njorlund and Saervild rejoin the One, and their empty shells nourish the roots of the tree. Many thanks to you."
She will turn to run off after this conversation:
- Tree-Minder Raleetal: "I must return the relics to their rightful places, and quickly!"
After the quest, she will be back at her camp:
- "The dreugh are noble creatures. Do not blame them for their part in the death of my friends. The river of their fates was poisoned by the Dominion.
May you always find sweet water, my friend."
