Detailed WalkthroughEdit
A mad mage is performing experiments within Gloomreach. The mage is in possession of an egg, and the clans fear that something dangerous could hatch from it. Bralthahawn has employed you to destroy it to prevent whatever catastrophic event the mad mage has in mind after the creature hatches.
Enter Gloomreach. Head east from the entrance, and start moving south once you hit the easternmost tunnels. The egg is on the upper floor of the mid-southern chamber, and is within a wooden structure that is guarded by two Falmer. Once you've destroyed the egg, speak with Bralthahawn in Markarth to receive your reward.

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,

) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
