Quest-Related EventsEdit
If you accept the quest from him, he'll greet you with one of the following:
- "Evil has befalled [sic] my clan, warrior, brought about by a clan-brother I once loved."
- "Greetings, warrior. You see before you a disheartened Orc. I seek my clan-brother, who betrayed our clan."
- "Do the City's sewers never end? I have wandered them for days, never finding my quarry.
I seek my clan-brother."
- "Blood and steel, warrior. Did you come from the sewers?
I hope you don't mind me asking, did you see a vampire down there? I am sad to say … he is my clan brother … or was." - '
- "My clan brother … Otholug. It's my duty to see him slain.
He was obsessed with becoming a stronger warrior. He infected himself with Sanguinaire Vampiris and turned on us. He killed many clan members." - So this vampire is now in the Imperial Sewers?
- "Yes. I tracked Otholug down there, but terrible things blocked my way. I can go no further.
If you are as formidable as you look, perhaps you can find Otholug and end this for me. For one such as him, there can be no redemption." - (?)
You can ask him a few questions before moving on.
- "My clan brother is dangerous on his own, but don't forget his thralls. They are strong when the blood thirst overcomes them."
- "I salute your courage, warrior. And if you kill my former clan brother, I will reward you.
Be careful though. As a vampire, Otholug is dangerous, especially with his thralls. I suggest you bring strong allies of your own." - Is there something you aren't telling me?
- "I haven't been completely honest.
You aren't the first warrior I've asked to find my clan brother. Others have gone in search of him; none have returned. It is more dangerous than I've let on." - How long have you tracked Otholug? / How long have you been tracking your clan-brother?
- "Several seasons. And it has not been pleasant. He and his thralls have left a trail of corpses everywhere they've been.
The Imperial City suits them perfectly. So much death here, they've indulged their hunger without restraint."
- "Never in my clan's history has a clan-brother committed a crime so heinous. There is no blood price for this.
Only death will absolve this atrocity." - Does this have anything to do with Goldfolly? / You and Ortholug [sic] come from Goldfolly?
- "Yes. Though we still call it Faltonia's Promise. Our clan worked that mine until it profited. It's a point of pride for our us. I believe it will flourish again in time.
How do you know that name?" - I defeated the vampire lord at Goldfolly.
- "Then you know what you're up against with Otholug. I am honored to have your assistance.
Perhaps someday, when we are at peace, we can share war stories and a jug or two of Ungorth."
Returning to him after defeating Otholug:
- "I am glad to see you survived the sewers. Many others have not been so lucky.
Tell me, though, did you find my clan brother?"
You could also accept the quest by killing Otholug before ever meeting Zoragag, then interacting with Zoragag's letter in your inventory once you looted it off Otholug's corpse.
- "Blood and steel, warrior. Did you come from the sewers?
I hope you don't mind me asking, did you see a vampire down there? I am sad to say … he is my clan brother … or was." - (?)
- "He is dead? Then my duty is done.
I mourn the passing of my clan brother for the Orc he once was, but I thank you for destroying the monster he had become. My clan thanks you."
If you spoke to him after the quest, he'd say:
- "I will remember Otholug as the bold Orc he was, not the monster whose existence you ended."
- "You have the gratitude of my clan, warrior.
Otholug was a good Orc once. I will try to remember him that way."
- "On behalf of my clan, I thank you for ending Otholug's evil. It was a dishonor to our clan."
- "I grieve for the Orc Otholug once was, but I am thankful you destroyed what he had become."
