Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Fort Telodrach lies at Anvil's northwestern end. If you enter the Foyer and turn left, entering West Navy High Command, you'll then find a door to the Captains' Apartments on an upstairs floor. Captain Mondirilyon has a room here on the topmost floor. Speak to him. He immediately suspects that you are here to condemn him for his cowardice. Ask why, and he'll speak of the sinking of his ship, the TEM Red Tempest, and of the woman he wishes he could have saved - Vyridia Decator. Ask him about her, and he'll request that you recover her remains from the ship's wreckage, somewhere north of Stirk Isle.
Before you set off, you may wish to speak to other Imperial Navy officers (of rank Ensign or higher) about Vyridia Decator. Their assessment of Mondirilyon is more damning - they don't believe he has the courage to return Vyridia's remains to her family, so will suggest that you bring them to the Chapel of Solemn Echoes outside the city walls instead.
But before you can decide what to do with the remains, you'll need to actually retrieve them from the wreck. Unless you fancy a long walk over water to get to the island, look for Saquerilla at the docks opposite Anvil's main gate, and use her fast travel service to reach Charach on Stirk. Then depart the isle from its northern shore, with Charach directly to your south. The TEM Red Tempest's wreckage is marked with a floating barrel, and is about halfway between Stirk and the large island to the north.
Dive down, expecting Sirens. You need to enter the Cabin part of the wreck. Here lies a skeleton labeled Vyridia Decator's Remains. Activate it to add the remains to your inventory.
You can return to Anvil now. If you spoke to other Navy officers, you might wish to follow up their suggestion and bring the remains to the Chapel of Solemn Echoes. This stands in Anvil's graveyard outside the city walls. Inside Alsa Egotia will take custody of the remains if asked, rewarding you with the Foundation Amulet.
Otherwise, if you don't want to make the old High Elf sad, return the remains to Mondirilyon. In gratitude, he'll reward you with the Broadsword of the Firmament, pledging to leave the Navy and begin a life of charity and repentance.
NotesEdit
- If you choose to give the remains to Mondirilyon, he will later be found at the Hostel of Saint Rosunius in Anvil, having swapped his Navy uniform for a robe.

10 | I met Captain Mondirilyon in his room in Fort Telodrach. Mondirilyon told me that he has been disgraced and stripped of all duties since the sinking of his ship, the Imperial Navy galleon TEM Red Tempest, at the hands of the Masqued Captain. Mondirilyon managed to escape the battle, but he left his crew to die. The captain asked me to help assuage his guilt by recovering the remains of his first officer, Vyridia Decator, so that she can be properly laid to rest, and I agreed to do so.
100 | I recovered Vyridia Decator's remains and gave them to Mondirilyon. He thanked me for my help, and rewarded me with his enchanted saber. The former captain told me that he would resign from the West Navy and take up a life of charitable service to atone for his cowardice.
110 | I recovered Vyridia Decator's remains and gave them to Alva Egotia at the Chapel of Solemn Echoes rather than bringing them to Captain Mondirilyon. The priestess thanked me for my efforts to honor the dead, and rewarded me with an enchanted Foundation Amulet.
