Cheat death and begin life anew as a vampire. Turn the citizens of Skyrim into your Thralls or drain your victims. To be a vampire is to hide, deceive, convert and kill.—Official Summary
Official DescriptionEdit
Hunt vampires or cheat death and begin life anew as a vampire. To be a vampire is to hide, deceive, convert, and kill. Enthrall, Drain, or Turn the citizens of Skyrim into vampires. This customizable Creation will prompt the user via a one time in-game menu after installation to select one of two options to tailor their game experience. The Creation also comes with a built-in MCM, allowing MCM capable players to turn on or off many of the features at any point individually.
In Game Menu Options - High Level OverviewEdit
Option 1 - Standard Vampire Extension
If the player catches vampirism (now named "Porphyria") and dies before they are able to cure the disease at a shrine or drink a cure disease potion, then instead of dying they will resurrect as a vampire. "Porphyria" is now also hidden from the player's active effects, creating a more immersive experience of slowly succumbing to an unknown infection. When the player feeds as a vampire, they will have the option to exsanguinate their victims or turn them into thrall followers. All vampires will turn into bats during combat as they move around and burn up into ash when killed. Infiltrating vampires such as Sybille Stentor, Wandering Bard, etc. will [sic] easily blend in, looking and dressing like normal citizens of Skyrim.
Option 2 - Hardcore Vampire Extension
This option is for hardcore vampire players and hunters only. It includes all features of the Standard Vampire Extension option but removes the ability to cure diseases at shrines. Diseases can only be cured using a cure disease potion or ingredient, and vampirism can only be cured once. If the player becomes reinfected, they will have to get creative to cure themselves again (e.g., consult Aela). Vampires will attack towns at night, and Vampire Masters may transform into Vampire Lords during combat.
Feature BreakdownEdit
MCM CAPABILITY
This creation is MCM capable out of the box for PC players that use an MCM. Options in the MCM can be turned off or on at any time. The options include:
- Enabling player vampire rebirth if the player catches vampirism and dies [sic]
- Enabling vampire town attacks [sic]
- Enabling vampire transformation into Vampire Lords [sic]
- Enabling the feature that allows vampirism to only be cured once via Falion [sic]
-Enabling the feature that prevents shrines from curing diseases.
VAMPIRIC RESURRECTION
If the player catches vampirism (now named "Porphyria") and dies before they are able to cure the disease at a shrine or drink a cure disease potion, then instead of dying they will resurrect as a vampire. Players who are MCM capable can toggle this option on or off at any time.
PLAYER VAMPIRIC ABILITIES
As a vampire the player will have two new feeding options presented to them:
The first feeding option "Make Thrall" [sic] allows the player to turn almost any NPC into a follower. Essential NPCs, vampires, and children cannot be made into a thrall follower. If the player attempts to make an excluded NPC a thrall, then a lore friendly message will be displayed stating that "their mind is too powerful to be made a thrall." As followers, they will fight for you, die for you, and carry your equipment just like any other follower. Thralls will also be marriageable as they have fully succumbed to the player’s charm. Thralls can be made by feeding on an NPC affected by Vampiric Seduction or by feeding on the citizen while they sleep. If a bandit is made into a Thrall [sic] using Vampiric Seduction, then they will follow you and protect you until you speak to them again. Once you speak to them a second time, they will snap out of it and become hostile.
The second feeding option "Drain (Lethal)" [sic] allows the player to exsanguinate their victims. This option will be presented to the player after attempting to feed on a victim they have already fed on. Victims will need a day or two to recover from the previous feeding. After a day or two has passed, the player will be able to feed on the victim again without killing them. Once again, essential NPCs, vampires, and children cannot be killed. If the player attempts to Drain an excluded NPC, then a lore friendly message will be displayed stating that "the gods compel you to let this one live."
PORPHYRIA
The vampirism disease Sanguinare Vampiris is now called Porphyria and is hidden from the player's active magical effects, creating a more immersive experience of slowly succumbing to an unknown infection. Players will get a hint that they may be infected if they check their health and notice a debuff to their health for an unknown reason.
NPC VAMPIRIC ABILITIES
NPC vampires that the player encounters have a host of new abilities to help them. Vampires will now disappear, turning into bats as they move across the battlefield causing chaos and confusion. They have a new unique perk that allows them to attack faster than a common mortal when in melee combat. Vampires will now only utilize frost spells and vampiric drain spells to slow down their prey and absorb their life essence. If Hardcore Vampire Extension is selected in game or Vampire Transformation is enabled via MCM, once the player reaches level [sic] 28, some of the Master Level [sic] vampires may have the ability to transform into a Vampire Lord. Volkihar vampires are extremely likely to transform. All vampires will burn up into ash when killed.
VAMPIRIC DECEPTION
Vampires that have infiltrated into the cities and towns of Skryim will now blend in, looking and dressing like normal citizens. Vampires such as the Traveling Bard, Merchant, and Pilgrim will utilize a variety of different outfits making each encounter feel unique. The Visiting Advisor, which is a vampire in disguise advising the Jarl of the hold, no longer will wear clothes of a vampire with burning red eyes. Instead, his name will now be Noble and he can be found wearing the clothes of a Noble.
To keep up this deception, the infiltrating vampires must have a source of blood. Vampires such as Hert and Sybil [sic] have a fresh supply at any time but other vampires like the Traveling Bard, Merchant, etc. will instead have blood potions on them to keep up the ruse which can be seen if the player pickpockets them. Otherwise, the spell "detect dead" [sic] can be used to identify these creatures. In the wild, vampires in vampire dens can be found wearing armor and clothes of normal citizens alluding to their infiltration into the neighboring towns.
CURING DISEASES AND VAMPIRISM
Disease can only be cured utilizing a cure disease potion or ingredient if Hardcore Vampire Extension is selected in the in-game menu or if the player uses the MCM to turn on this feature. If Hardcore Vampire Extension is selected or if the player turns on this feature via the MCM, Players [sic] who have succumbed to vampirism will only be able to cure their vampirism through Falion in Morthal once. To cure vampirism again, the player will need to consult the Companions in Whiterun.
VAMPIRE TOWN ATTACKS
If Hardcore Vampire Extension is enabled via the in-game menu or if vampire town attacks are enabled through the MCM, then vampires will once again attack the cities and towns in Skyrim at night until the Dawngaurd DLC is completed. These attacks existed in the original game but were patched out of the game sometime after, and guards in game still comment about the attacks even though they no longer occur. A main difference between the attacks that were enabled in the original release of the DLC and this Creation is that the attacks have been made easier. This is to ensure the likelihood that the guards defending the town are capable of repelling the attack before they kill an unsuspecting citizen.
CompatibilityEdit
- Place this Creation after any mod that alters vampires and the Creation will work as expected.
- Key Vampires [sic] such as Lord Harkon, Serana, and Valerica are unaltered by this Creation.
- This Creation is compatible out of the box with the mod Scion - A Vampire Overhaul. To ensure both this creation [sic] and that mod work as expected place this creation after Scion. Doing this will allow the user to get all of the benefits and abilities from both, [sic] but will replace the Reign of Terror ability available in Scion with the abilities in this Creation.
- Mods that overhaul the player vampire experience such as Sacrosanct or Better Vampires should be placed after this Creation to ensure both this Creation and those mods work together seamlessly. When using player vampire overhaul mods like those mentioned, placing them after this Creation will allow the player to use the abilities presented in those mods over this Creation's. This will also disable the players [sic] option to only cure vampirism once.
- Patches for the vampire overhaul mods mentioned above will also be hosted separately for a seamless user experience when using this Creation.
PERMISSIONS
- Snipey360_EdmondNoir will be hosting the official patches for this Creation.
- Permissions are otherwise open for patches that require this Creation.
