Up for a challenge?Edit

S'drassa, if it's not too much to ask, I've encountered a small issue with a link on the site. Around twenty Npcs have been listed by the obnpcrp as wearing a shirt with suspenders. The problem is, almost all of the links to shirt with suspenders page are the wrong ones. This link, shirt with suspenders, goes to the rare shirt with suspenders section, which only one npc actually wears. This, shirt with suspenders, is the correct link with all other npcs, and the links need to be fixed so they redirect to the correct section. Use this to help u find the npcs that need their link fixed. I've askd u to do this because, frankly, I have no time. I'll try to check back if u reply -- Jplatinum16 05:25, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Done, instead of tweaking all the NPCs I corrected the normal link so now we have Oblivion:Rare Shirt with Suspenders which links to the rare version and Oblivion:Shirt with Suspenders, which should now link to the normal version. --S'drassa T2M 19:39, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
No... sorry, that's wrong. The Rare Shirt With Suspenders link shouldn't really exist. It was created by an over-enthusiastic bot while creating other links, but there's no item with that name. The weightless version may be rarer but it's more important (for enchanting, etc) so the redirect should point to that version. I'll fix it another way. rpeh •TCE 19:55, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
Haha, I've looked up the ruckus that the shirt with suspenders problem caused you and rpeh :) Sorry I couldn't have been there to help, but it looks like I asked the right person (or persons) to do the job. Changing the link was a smart decision. Thanks for taking the time to fix it. -- Jplatinum16 00:30, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
It was a good example of where there had been a previous decision that turned out to be the wrong one. No harm done. rpeh •TCE 00:37, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

I just looked in your cookie jar and saw that I hadn't given you one yet. Allow me to rectify that right now. Thank you for all the work you've been doing on patrolling, cleaning up, tweaking and generally improving things. I don't think there's much doubt that you have put the naysayers who expressed doubt about your patrollership firmly in their places. rpeh •TCE 21:30, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! This was something unexpected as I haven't done very much in the last few days. Oh, and I hope I didn't give you too much trouble with the "shirt with suspenders", another brilliant idea by Bethesda :P --S'drassa T2M

Im doing something wrong...Edit

When I used the show changes button it showed the anonymous IP changed the words to damage and then you reverted it so I checked again and it said he changed it to health. Is this a problem with my computer or am I just reading something wrong? Either way I apologize.--Corevette789 22:33, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

There's no need to apologize, we make mistakes from time to time :). As for the recent changes, I'm not sure if there's something wrong with your computer, but what you can try to do is click "(diff)" on the recent changes page, that will take you to a page with two versions of the page, the one on the left is the most recent revision while the one on the right shows the new changes. Now, the words in red are the ones that were changed, so for example when comparing this version, you will notice that the version with RoBoT shows the words "damage" in red, while the new version shows "health" in exchange, meaning that those words were changed between the two revisions. I hope I explained it well, but if I didn't, you can ask me again and I will try to explain better ;) --S'drassa T2M 22:41, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes that is what I use the "diff" button. it showed he changed it TO damage FROM health the first time then the second it was flipped. S maybe something is wrong on this thing.--Corevette789 23:01, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, strange, just one more thing... In the current version (without the diff button) do you get the sentence with health or it says damage? Maybe, I'm the one that got it wrong... --S'drassa T2M 23:03, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Nope. On the page it now says health.--Corevette789 23:08, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Okay... then it must be something else. Have you tried checking other pages to see if you have the same problem? Maybe it only ocurred once and now it has stopped... --S'drassa T2M 23:11, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

I actually think this might happen frequently because I have been messing up a lot of edits but those might just be me and I have been checking the others and nothing yet. A few months ago I had a SERIOUS virus I got rid of but my computer has been being strange since then. I run lots of virus scans and there is no returns though.--Corevette789 23:17, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Wow, now I tried to help that person with the feather problem and it wouldn't let me save the changes. I need to get this checked out.--Corevette789 23:40, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Well, it could also have been an edit conflict i.e. I saved some changes while you were writing and when you tried to save your changes, you couldn't because someone else (me) had changed the page. This is a very common ocurrence, especially around here, so if this was your case then it's something totally normal. --S'drassa T2M 23:45, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Seems when I am playing...farmville the site loads much slower and the two change preview-type pages are swicthed around butthe color is right.-Corevette789 22:08, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Guess that dosen't matter either the Rumare bridge thing showed I was taking it down not reposting it. *sigh* sorry.--Corevette789 02:35, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

As I said before, there's really nothing to be sorry about. It's not really your fault and I know that you're only trying to help so there's really no need to apologise :) --S'drassa T2M 04:29, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

TemplatesEdit

You mind if I use this {{User:S'drassa/TemplateTest|Destruction}} ?--TheAlbinoOrc 23:50, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Of course not! After all that's why I created them in the first place (with some help from rpeh), so go ahead :) --S'drassa T2M 23:53, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, S'drassa!--TheAlbinoOrc 23:57, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Oops i realise what i have done wrong, could you please fix it. sorry

Thank YouEdit

Thank you for fixing one of the two goofs I made on {{Effects Summary}}, bad night I guess. ‒ JoramTalk 08:28, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

ThanksEdit

Thanks for patrolling the edits made to Morrowind:Glass and the accompanying talk page. I was busy doing the same except my computer suddenly had a shutdown. Since it was nearly midnight I figured I'll do it tomorrow, not taking into account S'drassa's exceptional patrolling! Thanks again. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 08:39, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Template helpEdit

I got a little part of your template problem instead of using |gender=female]]'' use [[Image:FemaleIcon.png]] It is pretty big but mabye it is downsizeable (sorry I accidentaly pressed save page instead of show preview in your sandbox)--Corevette789 21:26, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually the problem doesn't come from that sandbox, if you look at the bottom of the page when editing, you will notice that it says "Templates being used in this page" and you will find this listed, which is the actual template. The problem is that in the latter sandbox I can't get to function so that when you use the "gender=" parameter, you get something like this:  . --S'drassa T2M 21:31, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
I know next to nothing about templates but I will try replacing some stuff and see what happens.(my sandbox this time)--Corevette789 21:35, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
I got it here I believe.--Corevette789 21:42, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for trying to help, but it is much more complicated than that, actually. If you really want to find out how it is possible to fix it, you can check out my most recent conversation with rpeh, he has already given me a hint to how I may resolve it :) --S'drassa T2M 21:52, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

...Wow I guess that wasn't what you wanted then? I need to research my wiki formatting stuff better.--Corevette789 22:00, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Yep, actually what needs to be changed is this, so that when you use it in a table, you only need to type "gender=female or male" and it will display the image. And don't worry, I was once a template newbie too not long ago, but you can learn with the time :) --22:16, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Just a thought - you might want to look at just the first character of the passed value. Otherwise you'll need to check for M, F, Male, Female etc etc. rpeh •TCE 23:09, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, although I've decided to stop for the moment in order to analyze the other parser functions. Who knows, maybe I can find out a way to make the template as you wish it to be :) Oh, btw, if you want to edit the sandbox to show me how it would work to display the image go ahead, I actually learn better by watching than with trial and error :P --S'drassa T2M 23:30, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Done. Actually, come to think of it, your template is exactly what will be needed as the sub-template in any #save/#load version. The idea would be to use #save on all the NPC pages then use #listsaved along with a sub-template like yours to display 'em all based on location.
The three problems at the moment are 1) NPC Summary doesn't save the necessary data (easily fixed); 2) Most Morrowind pages that use {{Non-Relevant NPC}} don't include all the data (which is why there are a thousand MW pages needing verification at the moment) (PITA but not tricky to fix); 3) #listsaved doesn't seem to work at the moment (note left on Nephele's talk page and she's probably the only one who can fix it at the moment). rpeh •TCE 00:31, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

You helped numerous times with my userpage, editing mistakes (more of those that I would have liked ;) )and just taught me extremly useful things in genral. Not to Mention you gave me a cake!--Corevette789 02:28, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Thank you! It wasn't really necessary, I really like to help out anyone who needs it, but thank you very much! Now I know what I'll have for dessert today ;) Oh, and I hope you have an amazing day and that you enjoy the cake ;) --S'drassa T2M 02:39, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

When you have a moment...Edit

Could you remove the broken image from your sandbox? It looks like your testing is complete, but it's still causing a link on the Wanted Files page. rpeh •TCE 22:43, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Done, although it seems that a new file just appeared in that category too. --S'drassa T2M 22:47, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. It's possible an image might appear in that list every so often for a while. RoBoT is moving NPC images to their correct locations and the way the process works means you might see a wanted image if you refresh that list regularly. It's nothing to worry about... unless one of them hangs around for a while. rpeh •TCE 22:54, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Oblivion4lifeEdit

It seems you have reverted an warning to an new user with the above name dismissing it as a practice edit. I am sorry to inform you the link was to a pornographic site and I for one, don't believe it was a test.--Corevette789 23:14, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. I actually thought it was a test edit due to the broken link, but I didn't even bother to follow it or try to find out if the link actually existed so thanks, I've reverted it now. --S'drassa T2M 23:21, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Heh well no problem I noticed it after it was reverted--Corevette789 23:23, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Prod questionEdit

I see you also added a Prod template to the main page of that article about Mythic Dawn Armor. Should the template be added to both talk and main articles or just the main article?--Corevette789 03:11, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually, the prod tag should only be added to the article created. Meaning that when you added the prod template to the talk page, you actually created two pages that need to be deleted (the talk page and the main page). --S'drassa T2M 03:19, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Oops. Well thanks for the info, I am trying to learn as much as possible because my current goal for the site is to become a Patroller seeing as I have the tab open 24/7.--Corevette789 03:25, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Don't worry, I had to make a lot of mistakes before I learned all of this myself too :) --S'drassa T2M 03:26, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

QuestionEdit

Excuse me, what was wrong with my add Manic 21:59, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually I didn't remove your glitch about Methredhel, it's still there (next to Amusei's notes). What you actually did was that you deleted some parameters that are necessary to make the template {{Faction}} to work. Meaning that when you deleted those values, you corrupted the template making it to not be working properly, I simply put them back in order to keep the consistency of the template, that's all. --S'drassa T2M 22:03, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Just Thought I Should Say...Edit

I've seen the edits Manic (linking to his talk page because he hasn't created his own user page yet) made to your talk page by replacing topic titles and bugging you. Just thought I'd like to say that I've given him an unofficial warning because of it. --ModderElGrande 22:05, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, but that really not necessary. As you already have some experience about editing you already know how to make certain edits, but by seeing his talk page I can judge that Manic is still a newbie, so he may not know about wiki stuff. Oh, and I've already restored the deleted sections, it's not really that hard ;) --S'drassa T2M 22:09, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Im really sorry, could you fix it. and can you become my mentor please. Manic 22:12, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
There's really nothing to be sorry about. You clearly are new so that's a really and perfectly understable mistake. And of course I would like to show you the basics of wiki editing. Just ask me about any doubt you have and I will help in any way I can :) --S'drassa T2M 22:17, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Thank you :) One question i have is that when you add stuff, do you have to remove the stuff already in the box, or just write underneath it? Manic 22:19, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Actually you can write wherever you want. There's no need to keep adding it at the bottom. It's something similar as if you were writing in Microsoft Works, wherever you add the text that's where it will be displayed. Oh, and if you want to see how your edit will look like before saving it you can click "show preview" (next to "Save Page"), and it will show you how the page will look once you save your changes. --S'drassa T2M 22:23, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Need HelpEdit

How do I edit the Morrowind:City People page all I get is {{Trail|People}} {{Morrowind:Ald'ruhn People}} {{Morrowind:Balmora People}} {{Morrowind:Ebonheart People}} {{Morrowind:Gnisis People}} {{Morrowind:Molag Mar People}} {{Morrowind:Sadrith Mora People}} {{Morrowind:Vivec People}} this ?--TheAlbinoOrc 23:18, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Oh, the pages that are linked with {{}} are actually being used as if they were a template. To make it simple, you should be able to see at the very bottom of the page (when editing) a little section that says "Templates used on this page", below it you will find each page (like Morrowind:Gnisis People) listed. You can then follow the link to that page and any changes that you make to the page will also be displayed in Morrowind:City People. Hope this helps :) -S'drassa T2M 23:23, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks S'drassa! One problem though why is there no template for Pelagiad People ?--TheAlbinoOrc 23:55, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
I think that's because they count Pelagiad as a town not a city. You can actually find it being used in Morrowind:Town People and Morrowind:Legion Fort People. --S'drassa T2M 00:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

NavimgEdit

Hi S'drassa, what was the problem with Navimg after rpeh's revert? I notice you reverted {{Page Icon}} too which suggests a wider problem than the cleanspace tags mentioned on my talk page. ‒ JoramTalk 20:27, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

There were two problems with that, as stated in the CP, here. It seems that an anon was detecting a very big padlock at the top of the page Oblivion:Oblivion, and indeed I actually found that problem too. I wanted to double check to see if {{Page Icon}} was the problem, so I went to the page Oblivion:Shrine of Kynareth (which uses the {{tl|KotN Header}} template) and what I found was the page icon floating outside of the boundaries of the page, that's when I knew {{Page Icon}} was the problem. Hope this helps :) --S'drassa T2M 20:33, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

QuestionEdit

Would it be alright to create a project in Morrowind for tasks not covered by the others ? (see what I've been doing here for example)--TheAlbinoOrc 02:45, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Well since I'm asking a question already... is there a needs content/clarification template ? Also I need help making a trail (or two or three).--TheAlbinoOrc 19:36, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry for not answering sooner, I just got Dragon Age:Origins and I just had to play it, but I've not forgotten the site ;) Anyway, I think that I will have to answer with a few questions, first what kind of project do you have in mind and, what kind of trail would you like to create? Regardless, what I do know is that you can use the {{Incomplete}} template to mark a page as lacking of info. --S'drassa T2M 22:27, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
The project would do things like finish the tweaks to the MW Screenshots page and begin to work on others that need similar changes. As for the trail(s ?) it's likely to make more sense if you know why I need them so here's the backstory I'm making something that could end up on the scale of Tamriel Rebuilt so I've put some of the potential pages (as yet sadly incomplete) in a sandbox here since it's easier to remove them than have to start them later. But anyway I need to be able to have trails for all the subsections of the mod.--TheAlbinoOrc 23:10, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, as for the project you can go ahead and do it, since I don't think that there are many pages that need that kind of tweaks, otherwise a project like the NPC or Places Redesign project would be needed. As for the trail, unless that your mod truly comes as a massive mod such as Tamriel Rebuilt, I'm afraid that you will have to stick to your sandboxes, since the current {{Trail}} template directly loads the data and creates a trail according to the namespace (such as Oblivion or Shivering) in order to avoid the necessity of having several trail templates and, in order to make the template to work on your mod, a new sub-namespace would need to be created which, unless your mod becomes very popular, won't be created. --S'drassa T2M 23:32, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
It's probably impossible to use the sandbox as the namespace isn't it ?--TheAlbinoOrc 23:36, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
Yep, the actual namespace for the sandboxes is "User", although what I meant by that is that if you really want to keep documenting the things of your mod you should use the sanboxes instead, although I wouldn't recommend it since someone may think that the use of many sandboxes is unnecessary, but that's really up to you ;) --S'drassa T2M 23:41, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
