Help?Edit
Hit a minor snag on my attempt to create the Oblivion:Quest_Items page. I'd like your opinion. On this page there appears to be a multitude of items marked as Quest Items. I should presume that either the page I am creating should link to these. Or that this page should link to the page I am creating. I am unsure of which way to go about this -- Thanks --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 17:31, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm, tricky. I suggest you make the entire list of Quest Items and wait with the links. When your list is done, you should post this very question on the Community Portal, so everybody can chime in. --Krusty 23:31, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Xavara & XaselmEdit
Hey there Krusty! I should now be back to a decent activity level, although I still have a bit of Uni stuff to sort out! Concerning Xavara, I saw the criticism and although I think the previous walkthrough was ok if the guy had bothered to properly read it, I guess I'll try and have another hack at checking it tonight or tomorrow. As for Xaselm, the page looks nice, and I'll try to check it asap, but I'd prefer the traps on a separate page (Xaselm/Experiments, so the trail works nicely!). Basically, the page looks a bit too long. What do you think? --SerCenKing Talk 18:47, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hey SerC! Yeah, sorry about the Xavara revert, but that complaint actually convinced me that some SI places are so complex that people actually use the walkthroughs – as walkthroughs. It’s a bit long now (I tried to shorten it but figured I’d get a hold of you before doing too much), so let’s just give it another go. As for the Xaselm page, I’m a bit split – even if the page seems long, people can just skip the last part if they’re not interested (at least, that was my thoughts back then); with a subpage, the whole detailed experiment section COULD be overlooked, and that would be a shame. Like I said, I’m open for suggestions as I also realize it is a bit “much”. Maybe on the CP? --Krusty 22:16, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, so I've posted on the CP to get some more opinions on Xaselm. Feel free to correct my description of your objection if it is not exactly right. I've also tried again on Xavara. And check this, I've actually added 14 characters! ;) (that's probably from "checkedby=.." though :P) What do you think? --SerCenKing Talk 11:36, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Xavara appears to be perfect now (I haven't been there in quite a while), and could actually use a few images (nudge) later on. I just realized something, though - we do so much work on the OBNPCRP and OPRP that we have picked up certain expressions - words like "root tunnel", "clutter chest" and the like are words we've made up along the way, and not everybody knows the exact meaning. Not that we should avoid it at all costs or treat people like idiots - but I think we should keep it in mind when we're writing all this stuff. Xaselm post on the CP looks good - fingers crossed for more opinions! --Krusty 21:43, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Help Pt.2Edit
I'm back on the same page with a few more questions -
- What should I do with any 'Plug-in' Specific Quest Items? Currently I have only found 4 in my list but I could find more as, you can see, I haven't done even half of it yet.
- In the 'Books and Notes' section should I include a link to the individual pages as to show the text? Every item in that section has it's own page would it be better to link over?
- Is there anything in your opinion wants adding to the Information at the very top of the page? Or is that information enough as it is?
- Does the Jewelry currently listed in the Misc section e.g. Aharjidi's Ring want listing in a separate Apparel section along with any other clothing?
I think thats all for now, sorry for the question dump on you all of a sudden :) -- Thanks --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:53, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
SIRP/OPRPEdit
Hey there, I see you are working hard on image name standardization, so I hope I'm not bothering you. As you might have seen, I've been busy writing up walkthroughs for SI places, and only The Howling Halls and Vitharn are left. Since I've got no notes on the latter and you probably know it inside out from rewriting the quest, I was wondering if you could handle it while I write up the Halls. If not, that's cool, I'll do it myself later :) --SerCenKing Talk 18:41, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, good old Vitharn – I knew it would come to this! My reason for not writing this a long time ago is that the current page confuses me. First of all, I can’t figure out if this is a settlement, a ruin or something else. I have considered making some kind of disambig page, but then again, there’s not really any settlement to describe – it is basically a ruin, and a very quest-related one at that, making it rather hard not to fill the quest page and settlement(?)-pages with redundant information. If you have any thoughts, please share – I’d be happy to write the page, but it feels a bit like I already wrote it! ;) --Krusty 18:59, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
-
- I'd go for the standard ruin approach, just describe the areas, and for more complex zones with a lot of quest stuff link back to the quest page. Similar I guess to what I did here. --SerCenKing Talk 19:10, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'll try - I haven't looked at the quest page in ages, so I may be able to come up with some original text - although I'll probably use the quest link method for Vitharn Keep. Oh, and the epitaph section is misplaced - any suggestions where it should go? --Krusty 22:15, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

The Battle for Castle KvatchEdit
Kruty, could you explain to me why you made the omissions in my edit? I am trying to improve my editing and could use the pointers! ThanX! — Unsigned comment by Sniffles (talk • contribs) at 09:27 on 12 September 2011
- Haha, first of all, I didn't make the corrections to your edit (someone else did) and I merely cleaned it up. That being said, I can give you a few pointers - first of all, your original edit was a wall of text and the anon split it into sections by using bullets. That's the better and more appealing approach, as people looking for tips likes to read small - and easy-to-understand - sections. Also, when providing tips like this, always remember that there's a billion ways and techniques for achieving goals in OB. We're basically trying to clean up too many of the usual "wear the Gray Cowl" / "Use the staff of Corruption"-tips and stick to the easiest and most obvious method. Whether or not your spell tips will work will be tested later on - but I felt like the section needed to be expanded and your tips sounded reasonable. --Krusty 10:01, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
-
- Okay and thanks. Yeas, I went back and did the bullets. The entire idea of my mess was to cover the 'keeping the soldiers alive' situations. I was play testing on the other comp as I went through the scenarios. I noted that after the Captain did his 'This is no good' spiel, we kept getting shot at from the ramparts. I zapped the enemies but more kept respawning until a couple of soldiers fell. That was what was omitted and I think it still needs to be put in there. The 100 percent completion thing. Firing a shock damage spell, 10 foot area, did hit the enemies even while they were hiding behind the ramparts, but the big deal is the character needs to get out of there as quickly as possible.
- The other nifty was having 4 Kvatch soldiers and 3 Imperials at your back, just paralyzing the enemies worked wonders. Their AI helped them hit the downed enemies earlier and faster than I could give the finishing blows and in that kind of crowd it was nearly impossible to avoid hitting your allies.
- Like I said, your tips appears to be researched and useful, so no problem there. I know perfectly well how hard the quest can be, especially if you try and keep everybody alive (I wrote all the NPC articles, so I went through it some 20 times and had to make each and every one of them survive until the end, just to check dialogue), and some kind f strategies are certainly needed - I don't think I ever managed to keep EVERYBODY alive in any of my attempts. --Krusty 22:35, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
- I kept them all alive. Yeay me! Only took about 10 tries. A question regarding NPCs. While playing with a level 2 character I have encountered many incidents of monsters and NPCs killing each other off. One very weird scenario was two Imperial soldiers duking it out in the wilderness. What gives with this?

Nanette's sectionsEdit
Here's the [[User:SkoomaManiac/sandbox/1|Sandbox]] you requested. Not perfect, perhaps, but I think it certainly breaks up the article a little better. I hope you find it acceptable. -–SkoomaManiac 01:19, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
You must be hungryEdit
You have been given a plateful of cookies! You've done so much great work on OB NPCs that you've got to be hungry. A hundred plates full of cookies wouldn't do justice to the work you're putting into the site, my friend. I offer you this one as a partial tribute to your efforts. Long may they continue. rpeh •T•C•E• 21:56, 18 September 2011 (UTC) |
- Thanks a lot, mate! While I’m a bit annoyed about all the female-model-infested real-life work I’m doing at the moment, I take comfort in the fact that my vacation starts at November 11th – and I can afford it! --Krusty 22:35, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm almost there with my List :)Edit
Well, i have 2 more items of which I can't decide where to put them. My list as it is currently. Well I have this object, is this an ingredient or a misc. item for decoration? And this scroll, well I dont have a 'Scroll' Section, so does it want putting on it's own? Or the end of the Books and Notes bit?--Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:02, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Apologies for butting in, but I thought I'd give some input. The cheese certainly isn't an ingredient, so it would go under miscellaneous. Unlike in Morrowind, scrolls can't actually be opened, so it should probably get its own little section. --Legoless 23:31, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Multiple imagesEdit
I've noticed recently that you have had some issues when it comes to having a lot of images and formatting them. I was thinking we could "port" Template:Multiple image from WP. There are some issues with it (as can be seen on the talk page), but I think it might help you out in some weird situations. Elliot (talk) 01:26, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
- Looks like a good template, although the “issues” mentioned on the talk sounds a bit annoying. We could use a replacement for the rather unhandy <gallery> template, especially these days, when we have more and more to document and the standard Wiki formatting shows its limitations. --Krusty 09:22, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
-
- If it makes it easier, overall, then you may as well use it. Just my opinion though. RIM 09:39, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

- Been fooling around with this a bit, and it looks good - square images, however, seems way too large as of now (I tested it on this gallery for fun), so I may have to dig deeper into that Wikipedia link to figure out how to change the thumb size. Unless, of course, you know of a technique? --Krusty 12:08, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

(←) Does this work? Elliot (talk) 23:50, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
-
- It certainly does - and it looks way better without the gallery-frame. Plenty of pages will benefit from this new template, including my own userpage in a few days! --Krusty 23:54, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Screenshots?Edit
Hey guy! We have been taking a LOT of screenshots lately in very high res with attention given to the time of day and weather. Does anyone want to browse what we have or have any requests for specific shots? If so, what is the preferred size and format? PS We've got some fabulous shots of an eight legged two headed horse! Mages Guild ContinuedEdit
Like you, I have alot of work on right now, so I don't expect you to answer this right away. When you have some free time, could you run two small favors for me. 1) Check in CS, if Traven says anything should you be suspended or expelled. 2) I have placed rumors on Raminus' page in accordance to what quests I did before I heard them. Could you please check that the rumors are under the right quests. The quest I have just completed; A Plot Revealed, does not seem to have a rumor after it (I have been around all the guilds, and no one supplied a rumor, could you check in CS if there is a rumor, and the quests completed before the yare supposed to be heard. Really appreciate it, hope work is going well and speak to you soon. --Manic 17:13, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I have very limited Wiki-time these days (work in another city), so obviously I'm not the best one to ask. Additionally, I don't have the CS or any in-game saves for the Mages Guild, so it's a pretty huge task for me - and I seriously doubt I can find the time, if I also want to complete my pre-Skyrim goals. I suggest asking SerCenKing for now - he wrote the original page and is good with the dialogue. If he is busy, I'd just put a request for Mages Guild-interested editors on the Community Portal. --Krusty 22:31, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
- A few things. 1) I forgot to check if the three battlemages say anything once you have the gem. I would reload if I hadnt accidently saved over it. I don't think they do, but I'm not certain. 2) After two or three more dialogue entries, Traven will be completed. All I need then is for somebody to tweak it and add images and it will be ready to publish. Can images on other pages be used, or do they all have to be new images. If they do, do you know who I can ask to collect them. I know what kind of images I want. Cheers. Manic 12:53, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hey there! Looking good! I'll take a look on the Battlemages, but if they say something it's probably not really unique. As for images, you can more or less just use whatever you can find on the Wiki. I just launched a new Vilena Donton page with images I found elsewhere. If there's any images you need, ask rpeh or Dwarfmp - but make sure you know what you want. Let me know if you need any help with the final fixes. ---Krusty 13:55, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- Okay cheers. The only thing I need is for someone to read it through, reword if necessary and verify a few rumors I've only heard Traven say. I will search for images now :). --Manic 13:58, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- I have collected a few images now. I am about to publish the page. Please change anything you dont like. Thanks alot for your help Krusty. Manic 15:34, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

SorryEdit
Sorry about tonight's conversation in the IRC channel and how it ended up. I just kind of got irritated by them both, and well, I wasn't particularly pleasant to them in the end by implying he/she should leave. But ahhh well, I didn't have to leave but I though it was though the better :) --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:36, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Well, just thought i'd post anyways. I didn't quite know if you were irritated or not :/ and on a side note - i've only managed a schedule for Burd yet. I tried sunday but it was one where they found you insantly and then followed you.
Vilena DontonEdit
Hey Krusty! Long time no see! I've noticed you made a sandbox for Vilena, and I was just wondering as I have already started writing her house description on paper yesterday (Cause of how my xbox and pc are set up) if I should go ahead and finish that, add it to the wiki on her page, and you merge that with your sandbox as you see fit? Thanks in advance - Emoboy64 14:09, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hey Emo! Sounds brilliant - just add the house description to the article, then I'll paste it into the Sandbox and find a spot for it. I still have some work to do on Vilena, so it is better to get the house contents launched now. Thanks for the message! --Krusty 14:12, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
- Awesome, I'll go ahead and add that some time today - Emoboy64 14:13, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
- Going to butt in, and ask you if you need a screenshot of her house or something similar to fill up some space? ~ Dwarfmp 17:30, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
- The page will be long, but not overlong – an image of the house would be really great, and that’s all the image ideas I can come up with for Vilena – she spends the entire game being passive and even if I considered some kind of image of Viranus, it may not be necessary because she hardly plays a role when he dies. So a house image would be nice – nevertheless, you’ll receive some image requests for other pages this evening, mr. D! ☺ --Krusty 17:38, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Permanent BlockEdit
I think you should block 86.148.235.207 permanently. He was warned repeatedly and blocked for a week but he just screwed up a bunch of pages soon after. If he actually wants to help the wiki he can appeal his block but I think if he is allowed to edit again he'll only add nonsense like before.RIM 10:24, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I considered making the block a month (as far as I can see, his longest block was for 1 day) - but let's just wait a week and see if his fixation disappears. I'll keep an eye on him. --Krusty 10:38, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, but if he makes another edit like the ones before just block him straight away.RIM 10:41, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Can you move this to the AN, under the addendium votes section please? (I'm at college so i can't do it myself without wiping the AN)Edit
Oppose: For reasons pointed out about your temprement I don't think you suit the role of administrator, even over this short proposed time period. I have noticed that, since around the time of the proposed temp admins, you temprement (especially in edit summaries) is somehow getting worse. I also wish to state that even this mornings has shown unsuitable traits in an admin, such as the obvious one about trying to change consensus to suit your aims. (I couldn't post this on the AN without wiping it clean, and i might not be on till friday so i thought i'd better vote sooner, rather than later) --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 10:53, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
