NotesEdit

  • Attempting to sit on Mankar's throne will paralyze you for 3 seconds. It is impossible to actually sit on the throne.
  • Paradise is the only place where Mana Blooms grow, unless the Wizard's Tower plug-in is loaded.
  • The daylight in Paradise does not affect vampires.
  • The sun is always rising in the Paradise, regardless of the in-game hour, meaning that the place never features nighttime.

Savage GardenEdit

Mankar Camoran's Paradise

The Savage Garden, sometimes called the Eternal Garden, encompasses most of Paradise's exterior. Under a unique sky is a verdant landscape surrounded by slaughterfish-infested water, interspersed with Ayleid ruins and broken stone paths, and filled with trees and deer. It is where the Ascended Immortals are tested by the Daedra who roam free across the island. The Immortals are former Camoran acolytes who are brought to Paradise after dying and are not hostile to you, but they are to the Daedra. The Daedra will attack both you and the immortals.

When you enter from the portal, Mankar Camoran's disembodied voice will begin talking to you.

"So, the cat's paw of the Septims arrives at last. You didn't think you could take me unawares, here, of all places, in the paradise I created? Look now upon my paradise, Gaiar Alata, in the old tongue, a vision of the past, and the future."
"Behold the Savage Garden, where my disciples are tempered for a higher destiny, to rule over Tamriel Reborn. If you are truly the hero of destiny, as I hope, the Garden will not hold you for long. Lift your eyes to Carac Agaialor, my seat at the pinnacle of paradise. I shall await you there."

From your starting point at A, you will see two Ascended Immortals to the northeast (orange dots on map) Follow the broken stone path to the south and after crossing a bridge you will come across three Daedra fighting an Immortal. Follow the path as it winds first southeast and then east, battling past another Daedra, until you reach an intersection. Heading north up a path leads to a small ruin with an Immortal and various Mana Bloom plants. Pressing on towards the east leads to a Daedra enemy; another one is up the small hill to the northwest.

Continue along the path is winds to the northeast and you will see that to the east and across a stone bridge lies the entrance to The Flooded Grotto. As you make your way across it you will be intercepted by Kathutet. He offers you a choice of either fighting him or free the Xivilai Anaxes in order to obtain the Bands of the Chosen, the keys to the Forbidden Grotto. From here you can then follow the path to the west, which leads you past two Daedra to a small ruin. Heading north from here then brings you to the Lair of Anaxes, whose door (C) is guarded by another Daedra. Whatever your choice, use door D to enter the Flooded Grotto.

In addition, you can find three boss chests (B) in remote locations around the Garden:

Once you emerge again from the Forbidden Grotto via door E, head up the stairs until you reach an intersection. To the west is a large statue of Mehrunes Dagon, while to the east you will arrive at Mankar Camoran's palace, Carac Agaialor. Just in front of the door (F) you will find Raven and Ruma Camoran (R). Two other doors at G and H, on a higher level, also lead to Carac Agaialor.

Lair of AnaxesEdit

Lair of Anaxes

The Lair is a small cave hosting three Ascended Immortals (orange dots on map), who have managed to capture their Xivilai tormentor, Anaxes (A). He is trapped behind a boulder supported by two beams (B) and is constantly pushing against it. If you decide to free Anaxes by loosening the beams, he will throw the boulder open and attack the Immortals, before turning his attention to you.

The Flooded GrottoEdit

The Flooded Grotto

This is a small cave with knee-deep water that is accessed from the Savage Garden and which mainly serves as the antechamber to the Forbidden Grotto. It is populated by three Ascended Immortals (orange dots on map) and you will also find Kathutet patrolling here if you took the Anaxes route to obtain the Bands of the Chosen. Two Daedra can be found guarding the door to the The Forbidden Grotto (01) at D. After dispatching them, don the Bands in order to open the door and proceed.

The Forbidden Grotto (01)Edit

The Forbidden Grotto (01)

The Forbidden Grotto is a medium-sized cave inhabited by Daedra, Dremora and Mythic Dawn agents. This is where Ascended Immortals who were ungrateful for the gift of everlasting life are sent to be tortured by Daedra for all eternity. Upon entering from door D, you will come across a Daedra and a hostile Ascended Immortal. A minor The Punished container can also be found nearby, while two cages hang above and inside the lava flowing through the middle of room, each with a Prisoner (orange dot on map) inside.

Cross the stone bridge and head into the next room, where you will be intercepted by Eldamil, a remorseful Mythic Dawn agent who will offer to help you kill Mankar. In the room are also two cages positioned above the lava, including the one (C) which you will need to get into if you go along with Eldamil's plan. In this case, after a brief conversation with Orthe, he will attack the Dremora and his two companions in the next room (Ranyu and Amkaos). Meanwhile, your cage opens on the opposite side of the lava flow. From here you can head east and then south to the final room. Alternatively, you can refuse Eldamil's help and fight the three Dremora on your own. In their room you will find a sacrificial altar that can be used as a bed (b) and a sack (The Forbidden, at B) containing the key to the gate at G. After the gate, defeat a Daedra and follow the passage to the final room.

In the last room you will find two more cages with prisoners above a lava flow as well as a Daedra and a hostile Ascended Immortal guarding a minor The Punished container and the door (F) to The Forbidden Grotto (02).

The Forbidden Grotto (02)Edit

The Forbidden Grotto (02)

After entering from door F, if you agreed to work with Eldamil, he will shortly reappear and continue to fight by your side. Make your way through the first few passages, past a Daedra, until you reach a room with the usual lava flowing in the middle and two cages with Prisoners. Here you will also find two more Daedra and a minor The Punished container. Cross the stone bridge and press on north. In the next area you will find two Daedra and another minor The Punished container next to some lava in the short tunnel to the west. Press on north, past another Daedra, until you reach the final room. Here the Xivilai Medrike (M) guards two minor The Punished containers and the door (E) leading back outside to the Savage Garden. Note that you must have removed the Bands of the Chosen before you can exit.
